Very cool interview!! My phone's translator crapped out after the Kovtun (:drama:) comment but google translate seemed very understandable.
 
So she is reworking all her jumps? That's big but probably a good decision.

While our girl trains and prepairs herself for the next season, I offer you to appreciate this creation of the unknown author, for a raising of mood. Generally, the situation was so. This opus already long enough wanders about the “runet”, but on this forum I didn't see a translation yet. I only ask the admirers of Yuzuru and Yulia not to perceive everything seriously and only to be convinced for another time that because long expectation of news from the idols the people’s imagination becomes boundless :drama:
A Question: Why is there no pics of Yuzulia from the banquet in Barcelona?
1. Yuzuru refused to Yulia, glared, crossed his arms and said, "NO!"
2. Yuzuru glared scary in the elevator, Yulia lost the desire to approach him at the banquet.
3. Yuzuru didn’t remember Yulia, he was photographed with Sima and he thought it was Yulia.
4. Yulia noticed something in Barcelona (something, Yuzuver with Yuzubrayan and Yuzushoma or bra on Yuzuru) and will no longer stick to Yuzuru.
5. Yulia didn’t like women's blouse of Yuzuru and so he ceased to please to her.
6. Yuzuru didn’t come himself and Yulia didn’t intrude herself like a silly little girl.
7. They were photographed, but Yuzuru was a step to the side with a straight face and hands at his sides, and Yulia didn’t like this photo.

I knew she had a difficult season during 2012/2013 but I had no idea about all this. :slink:

I actually had 7 or 8 injures that season. I was breaking my legs all the time - right, left, ankles. Then I went to a professional who works with Nina Mozer's group and he said I had a flatfoot and wrongly turned feet. That till I start working on my muscles and use the right insoles I'll keep breaking my legs. When I started using the insoles it was so painful. But it helped. That season, however, I had to have 3 injections in my ankle. After the first I started walking more or less ok. After the second- not quite clear. After the third I got up and fell. I couldn't step on my foot it was too painful. I was wheeled out from the hospital, sat for 3 days and had no idea what next.

I remember skating the LP in the practice, doing my last camel spin and don't know whether it was the lack of concentration or tiredness but I hit my chin on the ice. I couldn't get up. I remember when I was taken to the hospital I was nauseous all the way.

I remember doing a 3loop and feeling I can't bend nor unbend. A nerve got stuck. There were just a couple of days left before the nationals. Again, doctors, xrays, doctors... one said I had to retire with all those injuries, the other said the same. We did some more injections but they influenced my coordination. And in an addition to that I got a food poisoning. There I was at the competition, 2kg lighter and trying to make it to the team. By miracle I made it and was more or less ready for the worlds.

Q: Do you remember what went on after the team event?
YL: A nightmare. It took me 2.5 hours to cover 100 meters from the rink to the bus. It was cold, in the night, I was so tired. The Olympics were 2 weeks away and I didn't have a second - I had to attend places, everyone wanted me somewhere, were dragging me to places, asking to take photos.. I had some rest in the flight on the way home but then in the airport we had a greeting with an orchestra, flags and kids.

What was going on on the rink... People were offered money to film my practices. The guys from Sambo70 (Lipnitksya's school) found recording monitors in the dressing room right when I was there. We had to move to a different flat. Everyone knew where I lived and people were there all the time - some men I've never met, the journalists. The new flat we moved into had bedbugs. Apparently I'm allergic. I went to the individual event covered with bites. My dress is transparent, I was afraid it would be visible. Fortunately it wasn't as I recovered slightly. Still, going to that flat.. imagine that instead of walking 100 metres from the rink home I had to cover half a city! And there was always someone following us to learn where do we live.

Yeah, those crazy days... I wonder why Russian fed didn't do anything during that time to prevent those people from Yulia?

You can do nothing about it. You can't prevent them from bothering you in the street, or pay someone to record the practice session, or install cameras in the dressing room, in hiding.

Gezz! Nasty people. I remember Yuzuru's family had to move to another apartment after he won at Sochi as well. The attention is understandable. He is also bothered by Japanese media but nowhere near the level of his dressing room being installed hidden cameras.

I wonder how low some journalists can be. Seriously, Yulia has all the rights to sue them for invading her privacy. And she might win.

Abnormal foot alignment could explain her inability to find a comfortable boot, any unconventional jumping techniques, problems with edges and jumps, bleeding bruises (indicating internal injury), why steroids don't work, and possibly explain no sensation in leg when under great stress (as suggested by psusanne in post #4958). Ankles and feet are a multitude of very small bones and connective tissue (tendons, etc.) which bear more weight per unit of area than any other part of the body. Yulia puts hers through unimaginable stress. Breaking the ankle often results in chronic ankle/foot abnormalities. In addition to losing some function around the ankle/upper foot joint, this can telescope up through the leg and into the back, down into the entire foot and heel, and progressive arthritis can set in as she ages. Her condition is serious enough that two orthopedic surgeons advised her to retire. I hope she thinks very carefully about how this can impact her prospects as a skater and later in life.
