The answer to my question of Arthur Werner, the famous sports journalist specializing on figure skating.

Q: Good day! In the article "The Armored train" wich devoted to the WC in Saitama you gave opinion of certain German commentators that the best Russian figure skater of the next years has to become Evgenia Medvedeva. Meanwhile, in this season we observe improbable career take-off of just this figure skater. Those commentators somehow proved their opinion, why they solved so?

A: Good day! Why they solved so and why was it written by me? As well as all professional journalists who are interested in the sport they saw her skating on trainings, then saw records of Zhenia's skating on different tournaments - and they came to such conclusion. Therefore that seems to you as improbable in this season, experts assumed a little earlier

Another thing I want to say - it's a pity that there are no threads of coaches, but I can't resist to wish Eteri Georgiyevna Tutberidze happy birthday. She make so much noise in the world figure skating for a short period of time. What to wish a beautiful successful woman? Well I guess eternal youth and as much as possible names of Olympic Champions in the near future

Also congratulations to Evgenia with the breaking of WR for JrLadies in SP on 1.39 points! (the previous one was installed by her in the JGPF - 67.09) It would be interesting to know how much she could get in TSS if she landed the last jump perfectly ... :confused:

Today, on March 4, in Tallinn (Estonia) passes the junior championship of the world in figure skating. Girls executed the short program first. The Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva is leading after the first day of competitions. Evgenia shared with her emotions after skating with the special correspondent of the TEAM RUSSIA-2014 portal Boris Hodorovsky.
- Today practically everything worked well, - told Evgenia. – There was a couple of insignificant blots. If they weren't, it wasn't necessary to work at practices.
- Was the blots the result of excitement?
- It is rather a result of unnecessary thoughts which climbed in my head before performance. I can't get rid of a habit to think in any way. I try to drive away the thoughts, but they climb even more persistently.
- Don't you regret that you skate now at junior competitions, but not adults where you could get by results of the Championship of Russia if you were one year more senior?
- I don't feel sorry for it at all. Everything is good in its time. If it is written in rules that participate in adult competitions is permitted since 15 years, I accept it. Moreover, I agree. There is another responsibility at adult competitions. And it left to wait for me is already not for a long time, I get to number of the elite in the next season.
- With whom is it more difficult for you to compete, with contemporaries or more senior competitors?
- With myself. Though I never lose to myself. Even I can't imagine how it is possible.
- How is it difficult to compete with Serafima Sakhanovich with whom you train together?
- So I just go and I do my work. I know the purpose and I go to it.

International Figure Skating
Hiro Yoshida is covering the World Junior Championships for IFS. He caught up with Evgenia Medvedeva and Serafima Sakhanovich today and asked them about being good friends off the ice.
Medvedeva: "On ice and off ice are two different things. We are competitors on the ice, but off the ice we are really good friends and we spend time and relax together. On the ice I'm not competing with somebody else. I'm just competing with myself."
Sakhanovich: "I think the secret of our friendship is that we make a clear distinction between sport and socialising and being friends. What happens on the ice doesn't affect us. We are good friends."
