Alexander Petrov

He means Japanese male skaters are the "in thing" now. The it-boys.
Thanks. I don't disagree, though it is deserved as far as seniors are concerned. Juniors, well... Anyway, I'd be happy if Sasha a) skates clean b) gets second-highest PCS. :) No need to push the quad.

Mishin's comments:

"- In training, Asian and American athletes demonstrated phenomenal rentals - said Alexei Mishin. - And when the moment of truth, it turned out that the Russian athletes still claim to be a leader and take them.

And yet, the first in the short program with a margin became Japanese Shoma Uno.
- Its now just extolled to the skies. Even the face of the tournament in the official program did though come here more titled on the junior level athletes. I do not like his jumping technique. It is far from perfect.

I love you and your honesty, Mishin!

Rough translation.

- Uno is now simply exalted from heaven (worshipped?). They even made him the face of the tournament in the official programme, even though there are other competitors who are more titled. I don't like his jumping technique very much. It is very far from perfect.

Are the judges deliberately placing him on a pedestal?
- I wouldn't say that. It is simply that now, in men's figure skating, within the Japanese there is some sort of fashion. And this is shown in the junior competitions. Although it is necessary to give Uno his due - he has excellent skating skills.

Are you pleased with the performance of your student Alexander Petrov?
- Very much. Especially since he came to Tallinn not fully healthy.

No stream works for me today so I'm pretty frustrated. :(

Boyang just landed 3 quads in his LP so there's just 1 medal spot left for grabs. :((

Two falls. 6th place finish. Russian men finish 5th, 6th and 11th. Medals go to Shoma, Boyang and Sota.

No medal for Russia. Yup. But I guess this is what happens when your #1 has a back injury, your #2 is sick and your #3 is just not that good.

You are right! But I really wanted to a medal for the Russian guys! I think Soma was overscored in PCS. Boyang was awesome!

I can't deal with this... Sasha had a 5-point lead from Sota after the SP... He could've afforded one mistake--but not two falls.

A medal was easily within reach, and he instead drops down to 6th place. Quite the disappointing final group, with the exception of Boyang.

I think Boyang should have won too.
But it's alrigght, there's still next year for Sasha.

I also wanted Boyang to win over Shoma...at least he gave 100%. Really disappointing competition overall.

But a happy early birthday to our dear Papa Mishin!

He needed 141 to medal. I don't think he would have gotten that even with just 1 fall. So really he needed to stay on his feet. He hasn't stayed on his feet for both programs since the Warsaw Cup last year. Beyond just nerves, there is some physical issue that needs to be addressed. I don't know what it is.

Edit:
I really hope the Russian Federation does not block his entry to seniors because of this. I don't want him to waste another season on the junior circuit.

Nice pics:

Maybe Sasha and Adian are both going through growing pains. It's easy to see how much they've grown compared to last year. Puberty isn't just for girls...

edit

Alexander Petrov: Escape buy Mishin tie
07.03.2015 22:54:01 | Figure Skating | Figure skating. World Championship 2015

Today, March 7, to Tallinn (Estonia) junior world championship figure skating competition program completed boys. Russian Alexander Petrov has not managed to jump elements and stated in the final report came down to the sixth position. Their emotions after the rental Alexander Petrov shared with special correspondent portal TEAM RUSSIA-2014 Boris Jodorowsky.

- It is difficult to justify for such rental, - said Alexander Petrov. - At the last tournament I have any program does not work. Probably not strong enough. Counting, of course, quite a different rental and an entirely different result.

- When began to show fatigue, which you complained?
- specific day is difficult to call. Suffered a lot, but it could not affect.

- You have completed the program Junior World Championship ...
- Maybe it is said, only you do not want to make excuses.

- Tomorrow is your coach Alexei Mishin birthday. You could not give him a medal ...
- Who will run immediately to the store to have time to buy a tie.

Maybe he can take one of those undone bowties off someone's costume!

Russian men have growth spurt, It couldn't be helped. They will do better next year. I guess Sasha should stay junior for another season.

No, I think it's a waste of his time. There is nothing more to gain from staying a junior.

I definitely think he should stay in juniors fror another season… you know he's only 15 now so next year in seniors would be crazy
