Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

A bit off topic, but as another cure.

This program is featuring Shun Sato, Yuzuru's kohai in Sendai. He won first place in Novice B category for 2 consecutive years.
He is treasuring a charm and memo given by Yuzuru.
He also had to find his training rink at the time of earthquake, and he even changed his school for 5 months for that purpose till the Ice Rink Sendai was reopened.

He already lands 2A+3T, and Novice A boys say, "Youth of today are unbelievable!!"

Thank you so much for the cure! My IHYS is getting worse... I seriously need this

Thanks everyone for updating news, info, pic... about Yuzu. Whatever he is doing, I hope eventually he can be healthy and happy with himself.

I'm afraid that the more yuzu we see, the more our IHYS would become:drama: we can never get enough of yuzu

at least for me, my IHYS is at terminal stage already:laugh2:

Lotte just announced that a new CM for Xylitol White featuring Yuzu will be aired soon!
I hope they aren't continuing with the "70's throwback" thing they did last time.

Because that kind of thing is usually only funny once... (if it's even funny at all, because I'm not sure everybody "gets" the joke, especially non-Japanese fans? My wife had to explain it to me)

Sorry, but what is "70's throwback"? Did Yuzu do something like that in his previous CM with Lotte or it was somebody else?

The white costume etc he wore in the last Xylitol CM was (apparently) supposed to make him look like someone from the 70's. Maybe a 70's idol, or a 70's-style CM or something. It was a bit of comedy.

This was slightly lost on me though, because although I am old enough to remember the 70's, I'm not Japanese. All I saw was a horrid costume, silly hair, etc :-D

It was funny, regardless of whether the reference is real, or whether I understood it... I'm just not convinced it would still be funny if they did the same thing again.

I got you. I don't think Lotte deliberately made Yuzu look like a star in the 1970s. I think it's just that they have super outdated tastes in fashion.

Thanks for explaining. I see. I don't get that white costume either...Hope they come up with something more appealing this time.

So there will soon be a Yuzu CM war: Bathclin, Nishikawa, Lotte White, any else?

I never knew this context to the cm! I only knew that wasn't able to watch the cm properly without laughing at all even till today!!! :laugh2::laugh:

I thought the costume was based on elf or fairy?

I really can't choose between Mao's victory and yuzu's victory to be the most memorable, both were epic and touching victories.....:drama:

Yes! Both of them are really memorable and the good rivalry between Yuzuru and Tatsuki too. the article makes me miss them even more.

Btw, seems that he will officially become a Mao’s rival
Because she is an image character of Nishikawa’s rival company

I'm not looking foward to another CM from them... I was so embarassed for Yuzuru with that stupid white/gold costume and that, well, stupid CM in general.
I can only hope that the new one isn't as awful...
