Daisuke Takahashi

If his plans include becoming a chereographer, then I would think knowing English would be important. Also, when he's doing shows in Europe or North America, where English is more widely spoken, learning the language would help him with not just interacting with the other skaters but help him build a network for future gigs.

Has he said what he is studying? I've only heard that he wants to study dance.

He wants to study English hence he decided to come to the States. And yes, he has expressed that he wants to be able to communicate with fellow skaters so that's also one of his motivations to learn English.

Language school? Dai, I'm sure there are plenty of people who would love to teach you English for free... :p I even have a TEFL certificate!

I think you should tag him on Instagram and show him your certificate. :p

The full CM for Studio Ghibli has been published today :)

Wow. Who would have predicted a Studio Ghibli and Daisuke collaboration?! I love Ghibli, I've seen just about every movie (and many of them about 20x :-D Mostly the Miyazaki ones). Takahashi + Ghibli is super cool.

Ah, but can you also offer him the classroom experience - with dozens of fellow students to make friends with, interact with, help each other, hang out after class, exposure to many nationalities and cultures etc? I think those things are very valuable...

Thank you for the cast list. I'm looking forward to the videos and seeing Dai (and his crew) on the ice again. It feels like such a long time has passed since we've seen him skate.

Kobe is the place where my husband and I started our married life in 1991, then were hit by Great Hanshin earthquake in 1995. Had to leave this beautiful town because the city was completely destroyed sadly... we came back to Yokohama (my birth place). Been 20 years since, and Kobe is forever the very very special town for us both, with so many good old memories.

I never was able to attend the show (so far away from Yokohama), but will donate some small money to the above bank account once again for sure.

Thank you for the links Deedee. It is so nice to see Daisuke back on the ice where he belongs. I am still awe-struck every time I see him skate. On a personal note I'm so sorry you experienced the earthquake and were uprooted from your home. I can understand why Kobe must mean a lot to you and it's very kind of you to donate.

Here's the first message from Dai on his official site :) : http://d1sk.com/from_d1sk/

He's now in the US already (from what I've heard so far he left Japan on 24th April). Good luck to Daisuke in the new chapter of his life in the US! :yay::yay:

Can someone do a translation. Please.

"Hi, this is Takahashi Daisuke.

It's been a while since I announced the launch of my new official website. Sorry to have kept you waiting so long but it's got started finally!
I'm in the US now. I do have many worries in my heart, but believing I can manage it/can somehow handle it, I will do it! The first thing I should try is to enjoy it probably! So, please try to enjoy your own every-day life, too, everyone!

Look forward to the day I will see you again. Bye!
