Javier Fernandez

As a guess or an actual fact? Because I haven't seen any interview of him addressing the matter
As a guess, I have a hunch it could be SC and TEB, but who knows. TEB is not that far from Spain, and train-wise, remaining in Canada (as it would happen if he chose SC) would be the smartest thing to do, specially since he now seems pretty motivated to aim for the top of the podium.
But Javi has done SC last season right? Maybe he will go for SA since SA is also near. So SA and TEB?
Yuzuru will do SC and NHK. But I don't know if Denis will like CoR and CoC back to back.

I selfishly hope he will go to SA so I can see him, and TEB would be convenient to Spain so his friends & family could come support him.

Yeah, actually that is why I'm a bit unsure as to SC. He was there last year and has already won it once so..but I'm very inclined to believe he'll have either SC or SA. :)

thanks for translation!! runaway javi! i remember reading once that he was late for practice and brian had to go to his house to pick him up:laugh:
javier in tights :laugh2: i wonder whats the reasoning behind that costume pick :slink:

Yes, thanks to bartlebooth and gallavich for the translation of the highlights and the link to the radio interview.

I think we all understand why Brian Orser said that Javier's winning Worlds is his (Brian's) "greatest truimph." And it is Javier's too and much more so.

I think Javier's wearing tights for a fashion shoot, and men's tights appear to be a fashion trend right now at least in Europe. We'll see when the weather becomes warmer. ;)

Oh dear! But still... better than Yuzuru's Xylitol white and gold onesie.
Anything is better than that horrible costume. :laugh2: But seriously he doesn't look bad at all in this picture. And considering he has a professional photographer doing with him, I'm sure the result will be good. :)

Considering the shoes he's wearing, I wonder if it's for a sport brand that does thighs for men. That's not something uncommon, I've seen it on men here too. And yes, I live in Europe. ^^

Above is a blog post which translates the video of Javi and his Mom.
What a sweet relationship.
:cheer: yay, detailed translation, thank you for the link!

I was imagining Javi living in Toronto or in Japan with Miki for 5-10 years after the end of his skating career, and then return to Spain. But after this interview I tend to think he'll return to Spain, to his family and mother right after he's finished with competitive skating.

After those pictures of Javi's photoshoot I couldn't help but laugh at the irony. I don't know if it was posted here before but this article title translates to 'I never wear tights', it's a relatively old interview (a little before Sochi), but still I find it kind of amusing.
In case it hadn't been posted before, the article talks about how he got into skating and how he doesn't find it weird that his dad works in the military in he's (Javi) a figure skater because they have always supported him. He said he had a hard time studying, specially physics and chemistry but was quite good at drawing and math. He talked about his nicknames: 'lizard' because he was very mischevous and 'Javichi' because he was short. He said he never hesitated on practicing a sport that is normally considered for girls and that some call them 'the ones with the tights' but he always skates with pants.
He said he has felt lonely training overseas but he knew he had to do it to improve and that made it easier. He also said his mom made him call her through Skype everyday. He said his english was very basic when he got to NJ and Morozov had to communicate through signs And it was chaotic. He said he doesn't think about doing the quads, that he kind of does them automatically and never gets dizzy. He also said he never took theatre but sometimes hired actors to help him w/ the interpretation. He talked about how much the sport has changed in terms of the quads and that on a free day he plays Call of Duty or goes out w/ his girlfriend (he was still dating Courtney back then). He said that while he was in the K&C at Euros 2014, she told him he'd better say hi to her and that he doesn't like it but he agreed XD he eats half a plate of pasta and vitamin shakes before competing to have energy.
He spends around 3000 euros monthly plus 10000 dollars for choreography, 2500 dollars for costumes, etc.

thanks xibsuarz !!
the irony of saying " i never wear tights"
and thats a lot of money (not that we didnt know FS is expensive sport) :slink: at least he has new sponsors and i am sure there will be more after gold medal at worlds :cheer:

I'm amazed that the costumes cost that much. Especially when Javi's costumes always look very practical like you can wear them and walk on street as casual.
