Haven't posted for a long time but I just can't take this anymore - being the lucky one to watch the show there, I've been DEAD (yea, still) for his new program. He and his team are both wise to choose this lovely piece of music showing affection to his root and somewhat another level of artistry. The Ina Bauer was gorgeous as usual technically but a lot more sophistication in terms of interpretation of choreo. Footwork was magnificent too. Not sure how the arrangement will be adjusted, but I like the pitching of 4T. It seems Yuzu really knows himself very well, this might be the defining program of his career. Nonetheless, Shae Lynn surprised me by handing this very oriental program. She got Yuzu's edge and making it easy for foreign fans' appreciation. Applause to Shae Lynn.
The elegant Yuzu wowed the audiences with his glittery silver/white-embroidered costume and the special music choice. All of you might hear the boiling crowd later when the full version will be broadcast soon or later LMAO
The costume shone and it totally killed!!!! Yep, shinny little rhinestones are still on, okay, in a nice way (i think)
No worries to his falls for the 2 quads, he needs some time to get used to the music - it looked like he was not so sure at the moment he took off, he just missed the moment. Last but not least, the rink was small, he accommodated it quite a bit that he also slowed down sometimes when getting close to the end of rink.
Can't wait to see the whole polished program. His growth is huge and swift...... like a rocket indeed. I am so proud of him and excited to see how much he can do in the future.

I absolutely love the new costume, its elegant and very different. I am excited to watch Yuzu's new program develop over time.
Has anyone thought that his new costume, having green and purple accents, remind you of Buzz Lightyear?? I mean this in a totally fun way of course.

Anyone want to point out Seimei's ending pose is the same as R&J 1.0?!?! Its destined to be amazing! Both were also done on the second year of the olympic cycle. I just like to point out useless information

A lot of this stuff was covered in part by various news outlets and translated by other kind people. I'll just share some of the things that haven't been translated before.
As always, other native Japanese speakers, if you spot an error, please correct the translation.
Yuzu chose the name for his program "SEIMEI" in English (romaji) uppercase letters so that it would be associated with the character but also with the other meanings of the word 'SEIMEI'
He wanted to expand his borders this season and listened to many different music pieces. Amidst the trial and error, the thought of doing a Japanese style came up. So he listened to music from various TV dramas and chose one that foreigners would also listen to, from the movie Omyoji.
About asking Shae Lynn Bourne to choreograph his program again:
This is her choreography so at this point I am not yet able to consistently show my best movements. We do not yet have a perfect understanding of each other. As with Jeffery Buttle's Parisiene Walkways, I want to take this program and make it my own. There is a thought that this choreography should have been done by some one from Japan as that would bring out the style more strongly, but I wondered about making it too strongly Japanese. With this thought I got Shae Lynn Borne to choreograph SEIMEI so as to pick up the wonderful aspects of Japan as seen from the World's view.
In the course of creating this program, they watched traditional Japanese dance studying the movements of Kyogen and Noh. The smooth movements while walking, 'I thought it would translate well into skating' says Hanyu. 'I want to incorporate it into my performance.'
He says the costume is not complete since there is a difference in how things look in the spotlight, and under the lights of a competition. The costume is taken from the casual wear of the nobility of the Heian Period.
The program itself is 1 and a half minutes shortened. 'There is a crescendo in the full version, and a part where the tempo is fast. Please look forward to this for later.' Says Hanyu.
That's about it for interesting new stuff.
He's really thought about this program from many angles. He seems very passionate and 'in the moment' but behind it he is an analytical and study-driven skater...at least, that is the impression I get.
A lot of this stuff was covered in part by various news outlets and translated by other kind people. I'll just share some of the things that haven't been translated before.

They are different if you watch for details: look at the hands- fingers position, they are different. In Seimei the jesture has a meaning to it that is very different to R&J 1.0.Anyone want to point out Seimei's ending pose is the same as R&J 1.0?!?! Its destined to be amazing! Tango sounds interesting. A pasodoble would be nice too. But it's like already been used before, many times. Hmmmm..:think: I'd really like to see a Japanese inspired dance (cause this SP, in my opinion, is more like a story telling and less a dance). I think that'll suit him, and it will be something more rare. :scratch: I know it'll be like twice Japanese theme, but still .... a girl can dream. I can't imagine an African inspired dance (i know it's quite difficult). I think no one has ever done it.

Just in case anyone doesn't know, in the first link, the blue is hydroblade and the red is ina bauer.
I don't have issues with either a humble or aggressive Yuzu. I think he did say that he is the only competing male skater who can interpret such a program, which is not meaning to be offensive. What I am having an issue is this author made quite a number of mistakes including wrong spelling to a skater and the "former Olympic champ" thing as Morena mentioned. And the translation is pale in its tone so readers might feel awkward about what the skater (Yuzu) was saying.
Every reporter, or I can say, everyone who has a job, is working hard. There are a lot of reporters I know who are working with deadlines every single second. Tiredness is absolutely not an excuse to give a lame work. Icenetwork should also be responsible to do a better editing if they really have no choice but to pick this freelancer.
Yet, good to see that Icenetwork has posted an edited version (looks so).

As for SP, I've got a feeling that Patrick Chan will have the best SP that will be hard to top.
His program looks to be powerful and great.
As for costume for Seimei I wish they made upper body costume cover pants better so it won't look as a skirt while jumping.

I had a feeling his costume is not finished when I first saw it. Though it's stunning, the large area of plain silver/white will probably have difficulty in bringing out his slim figure on ice, snowy white ice......
Idk but he might want to add something here and there...... and seriously, I am worrying about this too

So much fanarts already...and it's just the beginning ! This type of program is a dream for anyone who likes doing fanart because you can easily link it to a lot of fictional characters, and the magic part is aslo perfect for an artist imagination

Thank you a lot for the information ^^. I think he'll just change the color slightly to fit better the lights at competition. I was thinking about it yesterday since most of the costume is silver, maybe it isn't great for competition. :think:
