Here's my theory about the horrible camera work:
They had it all set up nicely for the first day of shooting.
Then, disaster! the ice was really bad and people kept falling over.
They looked at their filmstrips and made a last minute decision to come back the next day and hopefully get better performances.
Only a newbie camera-team was available on that day on such short notice so they didn't do any pre-shooting blocking of the skaters performances or didn't have time to do it. Thus, some of the skaters have really bad camera shots and some of them are ok.

Anyway, I'm just glad we've finally gotten to see Requiem and an improved Seimei.
