Yeah shortcake is quite different in Japan compared to the west. In fact, now that I think about it most asian bakeries I've been to usually sell "shortcake" style cakes, which usually means a spongecake with whipped cream and fruit. I don't typically see dense/rich cakes which is what that chocolate cake they're eating is. I've had "chocolate" asian spongecake before, it's usually has ZERO chocolate flavor and just looks brown. For a chocolate lover like Yuzu I can see why he likes the cake, it looks delicious and full of chocolate goodness.

Now that I know Requiem almost by memory, I can discover and enjoy choreography details. I think Miyamoto did an eccellent job on Yuzu's arms, hands, fingers and fingertips, expecially in spins and in hydroblading , while Yuzu's sensitivity to music is to die for :bow::bow:

yeah, its more obvious at yesterday's videos, changing movements with every little note, some users who thinks he isnt listening to his music should watch it

 I agree

I particulary love the hand movements in hydroblading here. So delicate and with piano notes, beautiful !

Seems to me this year will be the "hydrobade year" for Yuzuru. Two weeks ago (3 weeks ?) there was a discussion about which element could be named after his name, and I think hydroblade (maybe one particular type, if he does ? ) could be perfect. Of course he isn't the only one to do it, but still^^
Like this one, with the two arms up, maybe ? He looks like a bird and since in Hanyu there is the kanji for wing...the Hanyu hydroblade ? (sorry I'm off topic here ^^")

Hanyu might be difficult to pronouns for some languages. His name was sometimes mistaken. Yuzuru or yuzu might be better?

But from what I have seen, they seem to mispronounce 'yuzuru' more than 'hanyu' [emoji23] [emoji23]
Edit: I meant English ones since i only know english......

B ESP certainly made a lot of mistakes with "Yuzuru" :drama:
but I think Yuzu will be fine, it's shorter, catchy and basically the most difficult part in Yuzuru is the last "ru" (well for non-Japanese speaker).

フィギュアスケートアオーレ長岡。It is so late, but I am super busy as the semester is coming to a close. Here is my review of the ice show last weekend in Nagaoka-shi, Niigata. It was a very small venue and a wonderful chance to see great skaters up close. I talk a lot about SEIMEI and REQUIEM, but also many other Japanese skaters too. :cheer:

Me too! I can’t understand another language than English and Japanese.

I once read a blog by a Japanese about Russian figure skate said that “hanyu” is difficult for Russian, so several spellings (in my memory, over 5!) are there for his name.

Other than that, French language doesn’t pronounce “H”, so “hanyu” was called “anyu” before he became famous..

Anyway, I don’t know well!

I think it's the combination that's the problem? They usually say something like "yazura" "yuzunori" etc, sounds like it's combination of 'yu', 'zu' and 'ru' that's causing the trouble ??

Thanks KansaiPJ ! It's always interesting to hear your impression !

Well for French people the "ru" is quite difficult, at least, because the "r" in French is strong and the sound is totally different from the Japanese る"ru". (I'm french ^^") I'm not to sure for others languages in fact...and I'm not a good example neither, since I took japanese course in university and spend one year as exchange student in Japan xD

To many "u" sound in one name xD...anyway, it's seem like most people around him naturally call him "Yuzu" :p

Really? As you know, Japanese don’t tell “L” from “R” at all. So the pronounce of “Candeloro” might be different form Japanese pronunciation キャンデロ(ー)ロ. Thank you for loving Japanese language. For most Japanese, France is adorable country, it’s art, movie, music like chanson, literature, food,, all of them have fascinated Japanese. :)

Thanks @SuzyQ for uploads! I love hana-ni-nare costume!

I love hana-ni-nare costume!

Me too!! Thats got to be my favorite costume so far!!! I love both pink color and turquoise color? And I love the style which seems very Japanese yet not overly so!! I really like this costume!! I have a feeling that his seimei costume would be second to hana ni nare only!!

Yeah, hana-ni-nare is just lovely, that color, shape,,,and I love that sleeves! They really make his white arms look more beautifu:love:l.. SEIMEI is also nice!
Talking of SEIMEI, I’m looking forward to see how SEIMEI will change.. Most predictions are darker color will be put overall in order to make the costume stand out on the ice.

thank you very much for the link! :)

here we have a Yuzusinger who performs a Yuzuquad that covers half the rink and a Yuzueagleaxel that should receive +10 GOE at least :points:

a Yuzufeather is always lighter than air...

-It was the best performance I've seen of Hana ni Nare I think...has it been broadcast before? I don't remember it.
