Maybe he made his mind after the impromptu EX in FoI.

I´m ok with this decision, because I love Chopin, bit I was looking forward to a new short.

Best of luck to him this season.

I honestly don't think he'll have a new EX, he may do believe or requiem for NHK and another old program for international events.

It wouldn't bother me if he used his old competition programs like he did during the Olympic season  though I don't know which one he would use (Chopin would have been my first pick up until 2 hours ago)

YASSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I'm happy about him keeping Chopin Ballade No. 1 as his SP. I had a hunch he would, given the lack of info we've heard about his SP. The Chopin piece is exquisite and was never skated to its full potential last season, so I hope it's gonna break the 100-pt mark this time!

So he participate neither JO nor Finlandia, and he keeps Chopin SP for coming season that may make many fans to be disappointed. but if there is some priorities, the highest priority should be what is the best for him, yes, actually I am telling that to myself lolz.

By the way, am I the only one who wants to see the renewal costume of his Chopin (more stylish and cool one) at least. :yay:

I am a bit disappointed by the repeated SP, but since the Chopin ballad is probably one of the most beautiful musical pieces ever written, I'll forgive him. Now if it had been PotO again... *shudders*
Bummer about Finlandia, though. And the 2018 decision.

I really want to know if he would totally come back to the original layout, I'm thinking about the walley jump before the 3Lz-3T combo . And yes, costume...

I'm also expecting his original layout and that's still very challenging.

Yeah and with 4T in the second half. That spread eagle-3A-Spread eagle is to die for! I actually was pondering way back if Yuzuru would participate in Autumn Classic because its in October so he can test his program earlier compared to Finlandia which is too close to Grand Prix... and he did! yeay! In this way he will be able to spot which part to improve and be almost ready for SC :cheer:

No, you're not the only one! I hope he revises the current costume and adds some cool factor, especially the neckline. I have never cared for that mandarin collar...

I must admit I'm a little disappointed he's keeping his SP, not that I don't like it, but I was hoping for something more modern and upbeat to go along with SEIMEI. I can certainly understand why he made the choice though. I fully supported him when he decided to keep PW and I'll do the same now.

Autumn Classic sounds great! It's closer to my time zone than Finlandia!

Some else can correct me if this is wrong, but according to the newest news article/interview, he said that he does't want to retire and become pro because his can't skate as well, rather he wants to be on top as a pro skater. This quote is just so him!

OMG!!! I'll get to see Chopin LIVE!!! I know some people might be disappointed especially since he only has 3 (now 2) more seasons left but this program is just magical. Definitely needed to come back one more time. :points:

I was hoping for something more upbeat too but I guess we can't have it all, I guess after such a long and exhausting season keeping his SP and tidying it up instead will take some pressure off his shoulders. He never skated it cleanly and he plans a new layout so it's okay.

Barrie is not that far from me so I might actually go, depending on whether or not I have something important that week, don't wanna skip a midterm or something

Do you mind sharing the links?

Wow, the thread suddenly grew 5 pages! I find it so amazing how excited we all get over every bit of news  Anyways, I'm actually quite happy with him re-using Chopin, especially because he has yet to execute it to its potential. However, I am a little confused about all the previous comments about rhythm and whatnot? Was there any explanation of what that was all about? Because it sounded for sure like he had a new program choreographed by Jeff.
