Although this program has some flaws it's always been a favorite of mine. The Solo lutz is gorgeous and the spin positions are very interesting. I love the way she holds those camel positions a few seconds longer than one might expect before executing the catch foot. Plus...she's wearing green :p


This was the first video I had ever seen of Liza. Pointed out to me by a coach who is from Russia and skated under Mishin for some time. How did you guys discover Liza?

Caroliza Thanks for bringing this story up. And sorry I know the discussion has gone for too long, but I just have to say my last bit.
The problem is that the phrase ‘a role model for young people’ is so overused that nobody seem to remember that there is actually some real meaning behind it. I wonder if people who are so tolerant toward Liza’s EX program have given a thought how things like that affect for instance teenage girls, what hell the parents of teenagers are going through trying to keep them under control, what Miley Cyrus alone and the whole pop culture done to these kids? Girls as young as 12 are known to ‘get low’ with strangers in the cars after coming out of discos where desperate parents are trying to chaperon them to & fro in vain (if they don’t let them go, home will be a war zone ). We live in a oversexualized society as it is (yes, sex sells as some of you pointed out!) can we please leave at least one area – namely SPORT alone where kids can get some positive examples? I don’t mind Liza posting some photos which might look provocative but I do really dislike her Ex routine and sincerely hope she will not use it for the season. It’s cheap, tacky and does not do anything good for her image, photos alone would not cause any raised brows but together with the Ex, one begins to wonder.

Liza is in to compete at Japan Open for team Europe. Her teammates will be Sotnikova, Joubert and Fernandez. Awesome team :biggrin:
 
Those that have been following Liza for as long as I have (today is 4 years since we became friends on Facebook!!! :cheer: ) will know that Liza and Estonian skater Sindra Kriisa (ISU Bio) are VERY close.
