Yulia Lipnitskaya

Yulia!!! :love::love:
The Great Comeback, here we come!!! I enjoyed her SP SO much.

I love how it started so normal and slow that it was like POP. SASS TIME. She slayed the entire program from start to finish. Especially that ending pose! So sassy!

You know, I've been on the hate train for vocal programs since Day 1...I just didn't see it working for anyone. It kinda worked for Gracie and I actually enjoyed her Phantom, and I thought Adelina had potential. Still mostly distracting IMO.

Now, this new SP of Yulia's is the first program where I think the vocals actually fit in perfectly and add to the program...beautifully coreographed and her timing is flawless. Jumps are better than ever. She isn't Sasha Cohen yet, but her artistry has only been improving since Sochi. I can't believe I love it so much. So excited for the upcoming season.

^THIS so much!

I kinda really dig upbeat Yulia! I watched the program with a giant smile on my face. Loved the step sequence! I see that she is giving a slight smile during certain parts :agree:, a little more facial expression would help a lot, particularly during the fast second half. Also, I wish Yulia would hold her gorgeous spiral and spin (both her new half-biellmann and hyperextended-biellmann) positions for a a second or two longer!

I love that she seems to be comfortable with the program already, hopefully its the same tomorrow with the FS.

It seems to me she's lost some of her speed I hope her trainer knows what she's doing with building these new muscles mass in Yulia. I like it though they can work on this program more during the season.

Don't worry. It's still early. No one is at full speed right now and it's good.

wow, she is actually going to Finlandia. :)

Is she?

I agree with you.

I'm not yet sure how I like this SP, I actually like the second part more where she shows that she can be sharp. I think her speed was great, the jumps were very good, she gained weight, looks feminine now and still has her jumps so the worst of puberty should really be over for her. I don't feel a real connection to the music in the first part of the SP, but this could get better because it's a new style of music for her. But it's good that she's trying something new.

It would be great if she would really go to Finlandia, she's obviously in great shape right now.

"It was even more nerve-wracking than competitions. I was getting nervous already at the hotel, then we got the wrong bus timetable, had to arrange another transportation. At the warm-up I felt completely lost."

About working with Marina Zoueva: "I liked working (with her) very much. First impression — simply insane amounts of ice time. You can skate for 7, 8 hours there, here you have two 1,5 hour sessions and that's it. In America, if you pay, you can skate as long as you want. I was very surprised with that. And when we started working, time went by completely unnoticed.
The atmosphere was so perfect for me, I was happy to be there. Marina Olegovna is such a soulful, kind and nice person, it was a huge contrast after Moscow. If you do something wrong, she just gives you another assignment. Of course, critique is important, but for me, her method of work was very comfortable, she is a unique person."

"Marina recommended the American style, because I am going to skate at the Grand Prix event if the U.S., and, hopefully, World championships also (in Boston), if everything goes as planned. I'm still getting used to it. First part is more to my tastes, the second I'm only getting familiar with."
"But I'm not planning to take any acting classes. I watched video, I watched Elvis Presley, his dancing, I realized it was miles away from what I can do, watched rock'n'roll."
About her current shape: "Great jumps without music. With music everything starts falling apart. We are now working on it. We plan one more trip to America — will visit Marina before the Grand Prix. That's the plan for now — to get back in shape and to skate."

Hi guys! This is my first time posting here *waves*

Came here after watching her new SP. I've been hoping that things will get much better for her this next season and I think I'm pretty happy with what I've seen from her. I mean she's clearly been more relaxed and spending enough time for training.. and she looks happy.

I knew from the very first word that it's Can't Help Falling in Love and loving it (lol) already. That second piece sounds so familiar yet I couldn't name the song (thanks for pointing it out!). She said she's still getting used to the upbeat piece but I think she did good with the choreo and looked like she's enjoying it. The jumps looked solid so that's a good sign.

Curious about her fs and hope she's gonna figure it out and feel confident before the season starts. Like I totally get what she meant by once the music started everything falls apart. But she'd have enough time and she'll be fine. /fingers crossed

Also I can't believe how much she's grown/matured since the first time I saw her (on videos ofc). I noticed the body changes and hope that it'll play to her advantage this season. :agree:

Ah one more thing I almost forgot to mention. I feel like the test skate is like this school try-out before the exam kind of thing. Like you know you get to loosen up a bit but still need to do your best (as much as needed) because you try not to mess up even if you know if you do somehow mess up or make a slip up you'll be able to get it fixed/improved but still you'd be nervous anyway.. (gosh I hope I made sense lol)
