Joshua Farris | Page 40 | Golden Skate

Joshua Farris

I just want to see him skate a full season some day.

Not since the 2012-2013 season has this happened, and even then it wasn't perfectly clean because he suffered a mild allergic reaction at the JGPF.

He had been withdrawn due to injury. Bad luck...

No no no no...:cry::cry::cry:

Hopefully we'll know soon what it is... I feel so sorry for Josh. I'm sure he'd want to skate a full season without injuries too. Whatever it is, hopefully he'll be fit for nationals and can make the world team - hometown worlds don't happen too often. Maybe the WD from NHK is because he learned from last year to be cautious... hopefully. Fast recovery Josh!

I'm still clinging to the dream of seeing my Golden Trio in Boston next year. I want so badly to see all of them live...

Yes, Josh, Max and Jason. That's the team I'm rooting for too.
And Josh managed to skate beautifully at nats and make the team last season, he can do it again I'm sure. Just be healthy!

Golden trio= Josh, Max, Jason?

It is for me. It is for a few others, too. The athlete, the artist, the performer. The warrior, the lover, the dancer. The Gladiator, the Ghost, the Knight. The Swan Prince, The Pine, and The Scent.

My golden trio.

NOOOOOO. I'm going to worlds this year I really hope he can recover by then, win Nats and make the top 6...top 10? at Worlds!!!

I am gutted by this news. The season just became less interesting for me.

Oh, I'll still watch; I have other favorites and I know I'll add more to that list this season.

But, dang. The most intriguing skater for me is out.

I am sure that they are working on his full recovery, and that with this total focus, no need to worry about GPs, he will be able to not only heal, but get even better, and he will show up to Nationals with all guns blazing, and it will be glorious, and he will be on the World team.

He will, he will, he will.

Great attitude, karne. I also wonder if this recovery time will (hopefully) help any problems that he may still have with his ankle.

I still think the men's competition at U.S. Nationals is anyone's game. I'm not even going to predict what till happen right now - and probably still won't in January.

I like the attitude. As an athlete myself (Yes cheerleading is a sport), I've witnessed concussions happen and our coaches forbid us from participating until we're fully cleared by the athletic trainer (And possibly a doctor as well). Like if it happens, we have to move people around and work with it. It's best to wait until he's fully recovered than to come back too fast and suffer from permanent damage that will lead to problems later in life.

No timetable for Farris' return from concussion
U.S. bronze medalist suffered injury on hard fall during summer practice

I started a thread in The Edge for this article. Christy Krall explains how/when the concussion occurred.

Many big hugs to Josh.

I wonder whether he has been able to continue singing and playing guitar -- for his own pleasure. (I do not mean performing in public.)
I hope his love of music is contributing to his recovery.

Awww, now I'm going to imagine him sitting in his bedroom playing guitar and singing his favoured mopey emo songs.

Poor Josh. I just want to give him a big hug right now.

But he will be back. He will, he will, he will. This is when he needs his fans' faith, and I will never lose it in him!

I am genuinely wishing Josh all the best!!! I hope he will take time to recover fully and burst back on the scene with a bang when he is able!

Oh Josh, why does all of this have to happen to you? I'm very glad though he and his team are taking the concussion seriously and that they won't risk any further injuries. He will be so missed on the GP, after last season I felt at least half the skating world was looking forward to seeing him again (probably way more than half).

Hopefully he's getting lots of fan support (I'm just contemplating getting a twitter just to add one more get well soon tweet, duh), and his family and friends are going to help him get through this. It must be so difficult, but he'll get through this I'm sure.

And whenever he comes back (which will hopefully be nationals), I'll be happy to cheer him on again. He's also good enough to make the world team without the momentum from good GP showings, or to win the silver at 4CC in a well skated event while 'only' being the american 3rd. So not doing the GPs won't do his further chances much harm - it might not be completely as bad as it looks at first (relatively desperate attempt to make this sound less depressing.
