First I want to make clear - I am thrilled for Mao. She is amazing.

But to bash Sotinikova for not doing enough triples shows a true misunderstanding of how the sport works. Her technical score was poor. Well deserved.

Her Presentation is a DIFFERENT category. It has nothing to do with how many triples she did. Stop counting triples to determine that score. It has nothing to do with that mark. Just admit you hate her.

First of all, I am Adelina's fan, and I do find Adelina's presentation to be generally superior to that of say, Liza or Miyahara, but shouldn't the botched jumps lower her presentation score as well?

Not really a fan of either, but I do think Sotnikova is stronger PCS-wise than Tuktamysheva -- better SS, better TR (mostly because Liza's programs don't offer much in terms of transitions); PE, CH, and IN are more subjective but I think Adelina skates "bigger" and just leaves a bigger impression.

i have a feeling that maos pcs score will go up this season. she is the most experienced skater still competing. her pcs was always lower before because kostner and kim were competing. now that they are retired Asada cannot be compared to them anymore and is now the top skater. she has 3 world championships. Whereas before this past world championships in 2015 not one person in the whole field had ever won a world medal of any color.

Team Japan is simply very well prepared But it's too early to say who will dominate the season. Sorry if it's annoying, but I'm very curious about Liza. Did she skated relatively well?

Why does Liza have better PCS than Gracie and Satoko? It would be one thing if she landed her jumps, but she didn't, and the rest of her skating is worse than Gracie and Satoko.

Again it is because she is reigning world champion and that does carry some weight.

Congratulations Team Japan! A great start to the season. It's interesting how Satoko gets the 2nd lowest PCS, but not entirely surprising. Question: why does Liza have 2 deductions when she fell once?

Its kinda how people hate that if the men have good jumps, the PCS will follow regardless of how well you really are, but its the opposite if the jumps fail. No matter what, the TEC will factor in the PCS. Hell, Javi got a highier PCS than Patrick! Thats amazing and somewhat outrageous

Sounds like a great comeback for Mao! Great start for her. I hope she dominates the season. As for Liza and Adelina's programs and choreography, the less said the better...

I do agree yes. But it depends on where you start someone at. To me, with her skating skills and overall presentation, her perfect starts in the mid 9's. Which would be at minimum 72 out of the 80 points. So I feel she was penalized.

It is about judging consistency and selective judging.

Why with certain skaters when they suffer poorer TES performance, their PCS always goes down. But only with certain skaters when they did absolutely poorly in TES, their PCS is always used to hold them up?

there is no difference in code of points then in the old 6.0 system when it comes to presentation and pcs. judges can make up whatever score they want. a lot of these scores are based on reputation and past results. not always based on what you put out there for that 1 particular night. anyone agree with me?
