2015-16 State of U.S. Men's Figure Skating

So, to save arguing, they are not summer comps, but they are comps where senior skaters are unlikely to be at a peak of form unlike GPs and Nationals etc because they are early in their season. This being unlike the Juniors at this time who are in their GP season already.

THANK YOU. I may have classified the type of competition incorrectly, but I thought I'd made a pretty valid point.

Mmmm, apples.

Max's training is the subject of a photo series on the USOC site.
Twelve photos and captions, incl. some quotes from Max.

My Focus: Max Aaron
Sept. 29, 2015, 12:11 p.m. (ET)
"My Focus" is a weekly photo series in which TeamUSA.org (and @TeamUSA on Instagram) takes fans behind the scenes with some of the top Olympic and Paralympic athletes and hopefuls. Fans can get a glimpse into a day in the life of an athlete and see the hard work, dedication and sacrifice that is required on a daily basis to represent Team USA. In the third installment, follow figure skater Max Aaron as he trains at the U.S. Olympic Training Center and World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

ETA, two extra photos of Max (not included at the link above) are on USOC social media to promote the series:

More practice jumps from Jason:

Sweetango apples: the best!

Holy Cow!!!! Those jumps were gorgeous. I can't tell you how happy that makes me. As for apples. Your location makes a big difference. I loved Fuji's when I was in Japan but, they are not as good here in the US. In the reverse. Nothing beats a Red Delicious Apple when you live in California's Central Valley where I live now. So, I guess it's like....Apples and Oranges. ;)

I'm not sure what all this fruit salad is about but I have to say I laughed out loud with happiness when I saw Jason landing the quad/triple. It's just a matter of time before that's just a regular day at the office for him.;)

Oh? Did anything interesting happen today? ;)

LOL I'm supposed to be working but I keep returning to that Instagram between segments! It's just so...so... beautiful :drama:

I am so happy for him! I hated the thought of his skating progress being limited because he didn't have the quad. Here's wishing him continued success! I'd have to say Jonagold apples--a blend of Jonathan Red and Golden Delicious. A great discovery and oh so sweet--just like Jason!

What's that supposed to mean? That the instagram of Jason isn't interesting? Are you minimizing the accomplishment? I don't get your comment.

Great for Jason! Hope to see him land this in competition this season and he'll shut up his naysayers for good. (although they'll still say it's UR or whatever)

noskates, please let me assure you that karne's unfailing support for Jason :), her expressive writing style :), and her lively wit :) are much appreciated by many fellow Jason fans here at GS.

karne is winking in the post that you quoted -- and I feel sure that she is using understatement as a stylistic device to emphasize her strong feelings in the opposite direction. In other words, I feel sure that her post is supposed to mean that she finds the Instagram an exceedingly interesting and exciting accomplishment indeed. :)

In reaction to the Instagram, karne posted in Jason's fan thread too. For me, one word says it all:
... beeeeee-yoo-tiful.

Well if this is true it looks like it is good bye Fernandez and Chan and hello Brown versus Hanyu. Chan was looking pitiful at the Japan Open especially compared to last year - he has regressed. No axel and problems all over. Of co urse one instagram does not mean you have the quad. Promising for sure.
