... Hiwatashi has some big goals he is working toward for this upcoming competition.

“My goal would probably be to get the highest score possible and get on the podium this year,” Hiwatashi said.

He is also hopeful he can include two triple axels in his long program and one triple axel in his short program. Hiwatashi also wants to try some quad jumps while practicing in Hungary.

.... In the next year, Hiwatashi hopes to compete at the senior level ...

End of the season number crunching

I just updated the spreadsheet. I'm just going to leave the numbers here and let you guys discuss it among yourselves. I'll also start a new thread for the 2016-2017 season. A few technical notes:

1.) For Team Challenge Cup, I added the SP/FS scores to get the total scores for Jason Brown and Adam Rippon.
2.) A reminder that scores include all international competitions including Senior B/TCC, where scores did not count for ISU SB/PB. Season's best is simply the highest scored earned internationally, even if it doesn't count toward ISU SB. Also, general caveat that each competition has differing judging panels so hence certain competitions may have been more (or less) inflated than others, hence the importance of including averages.
3.) Including an average ranking for both score averages and season's best scores.

Onward to next season.

Only doing (domestic) seniors for now.

But Mrs P, the TCC scores don't count.

Please see my note. As I said, I included all international scores even though they don't technically count for ISU PB/SB. Namely that included Autumn Classix and TCC.

I went back and forth on the whether to include TCC numbers because of the argument that numbers are slightly inflated. But a lot of competitions had generous panels this season and those did count. Also in Jason's case, it was the only way to gauge where he is now.

The numbers ae an imperfect snapshot. If people are want a pre-TCC number crunching, I can see what I can do.

In coming fall we will see where he actually is in competitions which will count, why not wait until then? That would give more credibility to your statistics, which you so kindly provide for us skating fans.

Those numbers will be in the 2016-2017 thread. :)

As I said, I get that these numbers hold various weight with various folks. I mainly just wanted to wrap up this past season and share what I had. You can take or leave my numbers. Next season is a new one with a brand new spreadsheet.

Ok, but Brown competed in 2015-2016 season in some competitions which count, didn´t he?

As I said, I factored the scores for all international competitions, with the huge caveat that not all of them counted toward ISU PB/SB and that they are perfectly comparable due to the nature of differing technical/judging panels. They are still ISU-sanctioned international competitions, including TCC.

But for the sake of discussion, I went back and calculated the numbers without TCC. I'm going to only include top 6 because that's where the changes were most apparent. Onward!

Thx for spoiling us with two rounds of number-crunching, Mrs. P .

Including the TCC scores was perfectly credible to me for an end-of-season post -- given that you included the caveat that the ISU does not count TCC scores for SBs. And given that they are Jason's only post-injury scores, as you added.

Appreciate your above-and-beyond efforts to keep track of these countless pieces of data for us, Mrs. P.
And to shed light on the big picture with your extensive number-crunching.
