Yulia Lipnitskaya

Not sure what it's called, but nobody does it like Sasha Cohen.

Yulia's is much closer though, and it looks elegant on her....Evgenia's is a bit forced...not as effortless.

Not sure the proper term or which is more difficult. Both Sasha and Yulia switches from backwards to forwards, both using only one hand to hold the leg. Whilst Evgenia switches from forwards to backwards, and uses both hands. As always...if Yulia can hold that position for half a second longer, it'll look even more fabulous.

Yulia's is cool because it's used as a transition immediately following a 2a

Yay! Finally! Thank you, Sam. I hope people will stop think of her as LipnitskAya, and will start to pronounce for last name correctly. It is not that hard, is it? :)
Hear, hear!

The very best of luck to Yulia this coming weekend!

And a huge thank you to Doris for doing all this work for us. (It's all in the context ;) .)

Hi everyone!:) I entered the site and saw the changed name of the thread and to put a stop to all the arguing I'll say that I don't mind it:yes: Especially when now I think this version sounds more correct in English

If you guys would like the title back to Julia Lipnitskaia or Lipnitskaya, that's no problem. I think Paula copied what was in Wikipedia when she added the birthday block of text. Myself, Yulia looks odd to me, but I am no expert on the correct form, other than the ISU has Julia as her first name.

To me it´s kinda hard to say... I think Yulia is phonetically correct form in english (positive side is that people won´t call her Julia, as in "Julia Roberts"). But to me - being Slovak and knowing that "ю" is "ju" in Slovak language - "Julia" is the only form that I use.

You know you're too impatient when you start adding up the elements from the test skates. Using 30 as a starting point for PCS and using average GOE, I got 68.9 for the SP she performed there.

3T-3T 8.60, 1.20
3Lz 6.00, 0.60
2A 3.30, 0.50
StSQ 4 3.90, 1.40
Sp1 3.20, 1.00
Sp2 2.70, 1.50
Sp3 3.50, 1.50

38.9 TES

I can't wait to see both her programs this weekend. 2 more days!!!

I can't wait to see her.
I'm hoping to see improvements in the programs and above all in her physical shape. That's all.

Thanks, Doris, for updating the information in the OP. Amazing job!

The only thing - the programs of the earliest seasons are mixed up... As far as I know, SP "Nocturne" and FS "Carmen" are programs of the season 2010-11, and two links in this post of Russian Nationals 2011 also belong to that season.
And the programs of the 2009-2010 season are SP "Kung Fu Panda" and FS "Don Quixote". Here are the links -

Same in Polish - "ju" is "ю" and that's how I write it lately. I used "Yulia" for a long time though, but have never written "Lipnitskaia". I'm for "Julia Lipnitskaya".
