I see!!!!

And still, quads' GOEs go from -4 to +3, for example, the judges are supposed to give -3 across the board for a fall on a quad, and that is factored as -4.00 points from the BV (aside from the -1 deduction). But an absolutely perfect quad with +3 across the board gets factored only as +3.00 to the BV.
Second time Yuzu gets +3.00 on his 3A! :cheer: Hopefully there will be many others this season!

Looks like tomorrow night will be fun :hb: Too bad I'll be in lab so I can't even sneak in a few minutes of watching. Don't fall over from too much excitement guys ;)

I go to cheer practice for a few hours and I'm 10 pages behind. -.- Too tired to catch up.

But to add, I was able to watch the stream of his SP! We had a long break and I was able to watch it!

sorry for my question but does hydroblade and ina bauer earn points too?
I wish step sequence earn more points because the one in SEIMEI is so mind-blowing *_*

Hanyu's step sequences have just been getting better and better. It's amazing to watch how fluid he's become in his skating :)

Hydroblade and ina bauer don't have their own point values like jumps and spins. They are included in the overall score of the choreographic sequence and the choreographic sequence is only in the free program. This is different from the step sequence bc it has one set value. The only thing that skaters can get different is the GOE on it.

This I am not sure of, but if done in the short they would probably just count towards transitions.

and season is offically started, 10 pages at 1 night? i never feel relaxed when i watch him, live or not live, i usually avoid scores and comments before watching the video cause i dont want excitement to go away but its sometimes too much :hopelessness:

but seriously, the handles need to be tucked away. I don't mind the color or the extra puffy, but those things look super stiff. And I can't help but think that someone in the costume department has seen one too many old movies where people wear pants like these and then thought this would make an awesome idea for a shirt :hopelessness:

he doesnt need to see old movies, we have Xylitol CM :slink:

OMG I started playing the clip to watch his SP and then what struck me directly is that strange golden side thingy on his top... WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT EVEN??
I feel like it wouldn't be much if it's in different fabric/material. It does look puffy and stiff on his middle part which is weird. Hope they'll figure it out.
And I think no one has expected this.. most of us were wondering about the color or even complete outfit change and yet that sides thingy.. it almost looks like it's there to 'mark' the area if you wanna pick him up/carry him lol.
It looks ok when he's moving around but when he's standing still it just doesn't look right.

I'll come back once I finished watching it.

I just got back from meeting and saw the SP... OMG from the way you guys described his costume I was imagining a balloon! Thank god I have the worse expectation that when I actually saw it... it wasn't that bad just don't make him stand still coz then the "wing" will spread out XD

BUT THE SP: Aside from the quad everything else is gorgeous! Like I said before I've been waiting to see that spread eagle - 3A - spread eagle and very much content that I will able to repeatedly seeing it all season long

Ok so I'm just glad he managed to land on both his feet (as in he didn't fall). Nice first performance for him. I think he looked pretty tense and was cautious but he's delivered a gorgeous performance nonetheless.

Gosh that beautiful 3A.. I also love the little steps he did after the spread eagle. Had to really look for that UR 4T and like you guys, the air position was so perfect but in that split millisecond he wasn't able to get that landing knee right (or whatever happened) and aw his head was down for a little while after but that's ok!

I think that difficult transition/entry to that quad changed his usual entry/preparation (like how his left leg/foot would 'draw' inverted 3 pattern for the take off) and while it didn't seem to affect the jump (take off and air position at least), idk if that somehow affected how he landed it. (man idek if that sentence makes sense)

Boy was I holding my breath for that triple combo.. super tight 3T after that slanted lutz but thank God... oh and did anyone notice he balled his fist at that last spin. I love that small detail. Also he changed back the ending pose with that open palms.

Not bad at all, Yuzu. I have a good feeling on this. Let's hope for the best for his free! :cheer: :agree:

p.s. I've missed seeing his face so much!! (as in motion haha) and he's so cute in the K&C like a little lonely boy :p and he gave Pooh his own chair aaw

p.s.s. uhm.. judge 7...

Hahahaha!!!!!! Your comment is interesting......

Finally got to see his SP! I'm glad it went smoothly, despite that wonky 4T (couldn't avoid a large -GOE there). And the 3A was sheer beauty!
But seriously, guys at SC Classic, fix that dang sound problem! :scowl:

But really... I agree with you all. I dislike this updated version of his costume. Hopefully he'll make a few change, the original was soft and light, perfect for his program. I don't want to feel like I'm watching a hot air balloon on the ice:slink:

Oh god, 20 new pages ?! You guys are crazy
I'm quite disturbed by the new costume, but I guess it will evolve, and we will get used to it :)
I found him a bit cautious, but it's normal for a season start. The step out on the 4T is more than avoidable, but why the hell can't they make something for the lutz ? Seriously, it scares me way more than quad and 3A.
Nevermind, it's a joy to see him skate again ! Can't wait to see the FP, go Yuzu !!

The costume just needs to be tucked once at the bottom so that it doesn't flair out at rest. It's bothersome in photos isn't it?
But I'm quite happy about his SP. places to improve, but landed the final combo. Whew. I was shaking while watching it.

Okay...ya'll can KILL ME right where I sit but (in my horrible opinion)his new costume makes him look...pregnant.:hopelessness:
:p

I also thought that skate was toned down and catious, especially the step sequence if compared with the latter last season. The best part were the spins for me, they were gorgeous, so fast and went so well with the music, especially the first spin set.

That was my impression too, glad I didn't imagine it. :) How big is this rink, compared to the other for GPs?

lol, Javi, what have you done? (ok ok I'm out...)

His spins were just breathtaking, choreo improved so much, SS became just to die for...shame on that 4T, air position was so great. I have to say his costume looks fine, especially when he is spinning and after I have seen Mura's costume  I am so anxious to see SEIMEI, hope he can stand on his feet, the program is insanely difficult. :slink:

The old costume is my preference as well. I loved it the moment I laid my eyes on it and all 5-6 versions after that. Very fitting of the time period and feeling of music. The new one, I'll need to examine it a bit more to get a better feel of it.

I've been lurking on this forum over the summer after May (which felt like forever) and I'm glad to finally be back on the thread now that Yuzu's first competition has started! ;)

Starting with the costume, it took me a while to understand what exactly he altered from last season's version, only after watching the performance many times in different angles I saw what he changed. At first, I was shocked because I thought the gold parts were cut-out, but looking closely I saw that it's not. When the costume is stand-still --it might not look as pleasant as the previous version (from last season), however when Yuzu starts skating and the costume is in motion, the flow of light blue and gold is beautiful. I especially like the gold addition to the sleeves; the gold on either side of the blouse I'm still getting used to though.

The Chopin SP program this time is definitely an upgraded continuation from last season, the change of timing of choreography at certain points are interesting (the step sequence timing changed, right?). The 3A looked amazing, we'll definitely see more 4Ts from Yuzu later this season (landed) and why did one judge -1 GOE on his last combo?

Anyway, can't wait for tomorrow's first official performance of SEIMEI! :agree:
