Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

My favourite part is when Simonenko talks about how some journalists still accidentally write Ilinykh/Katsalapov, and her response is just "it's not really an accident, you bunch of s***-stirrers". You tell him, girl!
This girl is a boss!

And Simonenko is one of the biggest s***-stirrers". You go girl!

My favorite quote personally is this one:

"And he is so better looking! Sometimes I look at him and think Wow!! that's my partner!"

I like the way this looks!

Even if you took 3 points off the SD score and 5 off the FD to be more in line with the PCS they were getting last year (and I think the PCS will jump this season anyway, but just to be conservative...) they are very competitive with C/B. And they aren't even 100% there on the tech side yet, so this season is going to be really exciting!

3 weeks til Cup of China & I'm so glad they've pulled up enough in the rankings to be in the 2nd warm up group. I want them to absolutely throw it down - it will be so hard to get to GPF because they are in the two most stacked events and other teams like G/P have two weak events almost guaranteeing them 2 silvers & a trip to Barcelona, but I think this year I/Z have the programs that will help them to get closer to the top.

Yes I think it's really unfortunate how stacked some of the events are this year relative to others. I feel like at least one ream who deserves to make the final will probably not get to go because of this... I just hope that couple isn't I/Z.

It should be pretty easy for B/S to get to GPF, and if P/C aren't ready it could even be easier for S/B to get there as well... :slink:

I would love I/Z to go to Barcelona. They have the programs and worked really hard on their weaker elements, like lifts and the spin. I had the feeling as if Elena`s layback position in their spin got better and the element overall seems to be faster than last year. Neither W/P nor C/B looked unbeatable at their competitions, so I think there is the possibility for Elena and Ruslan to qualify for Barcelona.

I just wanted to say that I loved these programs, love Ruslena & love this thread :) I think after MO people will finally acknowledge Ruslena as one of contenders for big titles this season. Ruslena literally rock  And thank everyone who contribute to this FanFest, I love coming here!

I also think B/S will qualify. If I/Z qualify by beating W/P and C/B, this could really establish them as one of the frontrunners for a World medal or even the title.

Btw, Ruslena`s vk group posted a longer vid of their FD and you can see there Elena and Ruslan bowing to Tarasova :)

If any of the Russians deserve GPF it's B/S and Ruslena for sure. I hope they both qualify but it will be difficult.

I have a new life, no less full of events. I am fully here. I live here, I create here. I have an amazing team. Ruslan, our coaches who live with me, with my thoughts, my deeds. I can be different, I can be crazy, I can run in and shout `aaaaaaaaaa!!! I found a piece of music, we must try it!!' I can call at 3am our coach Elena Kustarova and she'll say `come over, I just saw a movie you must watch!'. We all live in that, create in that and it's so cool! Thank god I have that new life. I mean it.

I love this.

I'm impressed with their spins also because last season that was the element which I found them to be really weak. Lifts tbh wasn't their biggest problem because they always hit the levels and positive GoE's. They only got that mistake at Euros and in the first 2 GP's got -1 deduction for extended lift but overall lifts were good. This season though they are way better in terms of execution. I love bother their lifts in the FD. So effortless and going into it out of nothing. I don't care about the one in the SD because that is the lift I hated most and I still do. Anyway, if it works for tham it's fine.

And you are more than welcome here.

I'm not a fan of Monko because she lacks in charisma and personality, IMO. However, after Ruslena's FD theirs is the FD I like most and if they can handle to be consistent with the levels they can score very well. I wouldn't count them out completely and I have to see BS in competition before being so sure about them. Although it's true, their GP's are much easier.

I liked that, too! She actually told them off for such "misquotes" ;)

I noticed that in the livestream, a smart move ;).
Does anybody know what Tarasova said exactly? She seemed agitated, so I'm rather curious.
