Elena Ilinykh & Ruslan Zhiganshin

I am interested in her SD dress. I know the one at Mordovian was not her dress she was wearing. I keep watching the SD. I am really loving the program.
But she said that she liked that dress and might keep it for the rest of te season. Personally, I think that that dress is very beautiful and elegant, and there's no need at all to look for another one.

Taking test skates and MO into consideration, if they skate clean, they have the programs and there will be no dispute on who is Russian #1.
:agree:

That's so kind of you to post this and save us all the research into daylight saving times involved! I'll most likely be able to wait till 4AM to find out the results, but the question is, when will I be able to fall asleep if said results are not as good as I hope? But I'll still be unable to stay away from the computer.

I hope we will get a practice vid like last year from CoC. :)

Looking at the GP`s entries I don`t know what the Fed had in mind in giving Ruslena such hard assignments. Well, I hope this is a sign that they trust them enough to beat at least one of C/L and W/P.

I am also so excited to see them next week!

The federation does not determine GP assignments for other countries, so China is just bad luck. The country the GP event is in picks the entries they want there, playing by certain rules in doing so )for instance one team that finished 1-6 in the World Championships must be at each event, and another team that finished 7-12 must be at each event, and then there are other rules for lower ranking skaters. I do agree that Russia really stacked the ice dance at its own GP though, but they deliberately avoided stacking it further recently by adding some crap team instead of Coomes/Buckland or Tobias/Tkachenkov so maybe they were just 'unlucky' to some degree in how the event came together?

Anyway I have faith in I/Z, no matter who they're against!

It would definitely be very interesting to see how they hold up in China, because if they can manage to pass C/L and get close to C/B, then they have a really good shot in Moscow.

IZ are skating in the second group, right?

So at what time is ID in Milan?

Russia can't decide which of their teams can go where, except for their own GP. COC chose IZ last season and they invited them in the Gala at worlds also. They had a very good welcome at CoC (with all the Olè from the fans after the SD) so I'm glad they are skating there, although it's not an easy GP.

Really? I thought the different Feds are negotiating with each other who is skating where. Oh well, it`s great that China likes them so much, that they are asking them again back

I expect the one thing the Fed would have changed if they could would have been to not have S/K at CoR - they held off assigning them to the host spot for ages, right up until the deadline in Sept. I guess it was because they were hoping they'd pick up a place elsewhere due to another team withdrawing, that way they wouldn't be facing off against I/Z and the fed could have used the host spot to get another of their teams out on the GP.

That makes sense. If NHK had chosen S/K, they could have had both teams at the GPF. Now, with B/S`s third place finish and depending on how I/Z skate in China, it will probably be either S/K or I/Z.

Regardless, they were always going to have to compete against two teams from the top 6

Well NHK doesn't look so difficult. We still don't know if PC will be there and the Shibs are the strongest couple I see there. So BS have some good chances to win gold or silver.

The family and I went with with Ruslena themed pumpkins this Halloween.

Yep I/Z has a challenging GP, but so are C/L and C/B. Today I rewatched their Frida several times ( and their SD and Carmen for pleasure) even without the sound just to reasure myself that their skate is the best. Then i watched C/B FD and honestly Frida has so much more details and difficulties that if in fast clean skate I/Z does not take the gold I will eat myself. Last year the judges were fair with P/C FD I really hope that IZ will make a difference this year with Frida. And above all this if they skate clean and does not take gold or silver then the judges know nothing :)
