Yuzuru Hanyu: 2015-16 Season

I realized that during the NHK trophy, I'll probably be asleep when he skates due to the huge time zone difference between the Eastern Standard Time Zone and Japan.

I really don’t know if I can follow the NHK, him (and Mao) in real time or not, even am living here in Japan. Poor my heart. :drama:

Back on topic, have you seen the video that was posted on the Chan vs Hanyu thread about Yuzu's ice coverage during Seimei? It's great to see how much he moves around, specially in the final choreo sequence. That's something camera angles unfortunately can't provide. But if someone's going to NHK or GPF it would be great if they could tell us about it here.

Have you seen Yuzuru's fancam in practice?
What a pity we will not have fancam at NHK.

And the last time I have heard, USFA is proposing a rule to limit the number of quads.
Just my two cents on it: it's actually not a bad idea. Like, why not 3 max in free and 1-2 in SP? It could encourage skaters to focus more on the artistic aspect of skating and not to only focus on quads, quads and only quads to try to win. Plus, it can help for the health of the skaters, considering how risky quads can be.

Anyway, let's go back to topic: who's going to NHK here? :) I know that fancam will not be allowed, but fans are still allowed to assist to practice, right? I'll want to know how Yuzu and Mao are fairing.

Re-posted here Yuzu's FS ice coverage video.

Note that the pattern shown on the channel page is not the final patterns. You have to play the video and pause near the end for the complete pattern as shown here.

I don't like the idea of limiting the number of quads. As I don't like the people criticizing Boyang Jin (and sometimes Yuzu) for being just a jumper and nothing else. After all, if a skater wants to be a jumper, approaching the sport by the pure technical and athletic side, why couldn't he. Some skaters are not comfortable with the artistic side and wil never be, so how could we refuse them to show their strong points ? I like the magic of skating being an art and a sport. I love deeply emotional performances just like athletic achievements, and I like to see both of them.
And relating to the risk of quads, some skaters may be "reckless" but their teams are not, and skating can be dangerous in lots of aspects (see where Gabriella's bad choctaw brought her...)
But again, it's just my opinion. :)

Q:那么羽生以后还会来中国参加比赛吗?
Do you think Hanyu is still going to go back to Cup of China in the future?
BO:会的,可能。我们还有两个多赛季呢。
Yep. Probably. We’ll still have two more seasons after this. He will probably comeback to China.
Q:2022年你会来中国冬奥会吗?
Are you going to go back to China in 2022?
BO:我很想。可能不会和羽生和哈维尔,可能是跟我现在带的一个韩国的年轻选手车俊焕。
Probably. But may be not with Hanyu and Javier. I have a pretty good young boy with me right now, Cha Jun-hwan, from Korea.
Well that did not just hit me in the face like a sack of bricks...not at all

can't wait for seeing seimei again at nhk, would like to see it clean there, but hope he saves the best for GPF :dance2:

So I think Brian assumes by default that Yuzu will only have two more seasons to go, i.e., retiring after 2018. And interestingly, he mentioned Jun-hwan instead of Nam or 2022.

Yup, I think so too. Obviously, that is the plan but, as Yuzu expressed several months ago, it could still change. Still, thinking about the inevitable is just :noshake::(:sad21::sad4: I guess the only chance I have to see him is at Pyeongchang >__<
I am also curious as Brian didn't even mention Nam. CJH is amazing, but could it be that he thinks Nam wouldn't be a strong contender in 2022? idk :scratch2: I'm confused lol

Well Yuzuru already is saying for several years that more likely he will retire in 2018, even it is painful for us I am fully supporting his decision, better compete on top level until your body can take it.
I don't exclude that if he is unsatisfied with results he may stay for 1/2 seasons more, but I really doubt we will see him in 2022 OG.

Oh I totally agree, I'd rather this be the case too. Setting this limit would help them too, imo, because they would make the best out of his remaining seasons.

Hhaaaa in life nobody ever knows ...so cheer up!!! it can happen Yuzu will be there but not with Borser ....:rofl2:

joke aside , I noticed Tracy Wilson was not listed as Yuzu's coach at SC, so I 've checked the ISU page and she is not listed anymore there too.
