Paris Shootings and Explosions

At first I wanted to laugh but you're just as stupid as the terrorists here.

Ya know...I've been called a terrorist once just because I wear the hijab. So whenever I read or hear how a person looks like a "terrorist", my eyes roll.

....and the refugee blaming starts again.

why do you generalize ? this politic is WRONG. Help to people running from war should be done in their countries, not letting so many unidentified people allow to enter europe. This is just like a dream for terrorists because they can easily get to europe in bigger group.

Kind of hard to help people in their own country when there's you know, a civil war going on and the government is killing its own.

If Europe will continue to invite hundred thousands of unidentified people it will be not that hard. I am person who looks realistically on what happens in the world, and this is IMPOSSIBLE to identify any of these people. 90% of them have cheated documents that is easily to buy.
Thankfully there are still some countries that say big no to this politic, and wants at first place safety of their country, but they are being called racist.
This makes me sad that many people can't see how auto destructive it is what they are doing to their countries.

And you think that demonizing Muslim refugees is going to reduce the radicalization of Muslims? In fact, the more you demonize them and the more disenfranchised they feel, the more likely they are to lash out. The more the west lashes out at Muslims, the more youth are recruited into ISIS

Where am I demonizing muslim refugees ? I am demonizing this politic where you can't identify people and goverments say "welcome to europe".

That would be ideal, but the situation in Syria and Iraq have gotten so bad that to live out their lives with some semblance of normalcy cannot be achieved.

But their country is being bombed. Are you suggesting they turn to ISIS for help? And that's going to magically reduce the number of terrorists?

You are also making the huge assumption that the Paris attacks were carried out by recent refugees. There's no evidence at this point that that is the case.

Well, I'm from one of that countries, I'm hungarian, we were the first who built a fence on the line.. But I hate my government for it, I hate how they manipulated the citizens. Viktor Orbán used it for political purposes he wanted to strengthen his faded popularity . And he was very succesful in it.
The West must to do something for the refugees because they are in Europe already. I didn't support any war but now I really believe the world powers come together and beat the ISIS! This situation is very dangerous for Europe, but for the whole World!

What governments are saying "welcome to Europe"? Each country mandates a lengthy process of registering, and the EU has been bickering for years about how to TURN AWAY refugees, not welcome them.

Secondly, the terrorists who are responsible for the Paris attacks are not amateurs. These were well planned, highly sophisticated, and tightly coordinated attacks, not lone-wolf incidents. They aren't going to be your average refugee risking their lives to flee to Europe.

I hate the fact that al Qaeda, ISIS, and all these terror groups have essentially hijacked not just the terms 'jihad' and 'muhajideen', but they've essentially hijacked a whole religion for whatever delusion they hold.
Excuse me, but how do you know that they hijacked term "jihad"? Should I quote Quran verses to you?
for example
"[2.190] ...fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you...[2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers. "

..whoever flies in Allah's way [forsakes his home to fight in Jihad], he will find in the earth many a place of refuge and abundant resources, and whoever goes forth from his house flying to Allah and His Apostle, and then death overtakes him [in Jihad], his reward is indeed with Allah...[4.101] Rodwell: And when ye go forth to war in the land, it shall be no crime in you to cut short your prayers, if ye fear lest the infidels come upon you; Verily, the infidels are your undoubted enemies! [4.102]...let them take their arms...let them take their precautions and their arms...there is no blame on you, if you are annoyed with rain or if you are sick, that you lay down your arms...[4.103] Khalifa: Once you complete your Contact Prayer (Salat), you shall remember GOD while standing, sitting, or lying down. Once the war is over, you shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat); the Contact Prayers (Salat) are decreed for the believers at specific times.[4.104]...be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy...

There peaceful verses, and there were not many of them, were later abrogated. **

** abrogated means that the earlier verses give way to later. Earlier, peaceful verses deal with the period of time when Mahomet and his followers were in minority (Mecca period), later they were in majority (Medina period). So for examples in earlier verses Muslims could drink wine, later verses abrogated that, and so on and so forth.

I sympathize. I have a friend who due to his complexion and 'look' (Dark skin, dark hair, facial structure) was harassed by officials every time he tried to travel outside his country. Has this kind of profiling ever really yielded results?

YEs. This is that question what I'm asking all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aha, there are couple of countries who are very, very rich. For example, Qatar, one of the richest countries in the world. Or Saudi Arabia. Or Emirates. Or some Muslims living in the West. After all one of the aims of Zakat is to help with dawa and to help with jihad. And every Muslim is paying Zakat so some of these money go for this kind of purposes.

It makes me sad to read this. No one should be defamed or disrespected for adhering to their faith. Yet this seems to be the source of so much of our current world strife :noshake:. Thank you for this post. Peace and best wishes to you.

Seeing as a good number of isis terrorist are white recently converted fanatics, I would say no...

And how do you know that these people who perpetrated the attack are not the refugees? Also majority of so called refugees are people from other countries not from Syria.

I think it's safe to say that most refugees are either running away from these very same terrorists that are ravaging / devastating their countries, or running away from similar/ worse circumstances back in their own countries, wherever they come from.
Please try to summon a small amount of empathy to know it is by any means NOT an easy decision to leave one's own homeland where everything is familiar and seek refuge in a foreign country where they have to essentially start from zero.
When people do, it means that they are desperate for a better life.
To blame refugees in circumstances like this is like .. i don't know, kicking baby after it's fallen down the stairs? @_@

I'm not sure where you have gotten your translations. But for example, chapter 2 verse 190 (al-Baqarah: 190, the one you shared), it says :" Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors." This means that fighting in self-defense is allowed but do not use violence for injustice. I have a working knowledge of arabic so I know that the translation you've provided is wrong. And for the succeeding verses, context is important to learn that it was about self-defense in a time of war.

Jihad means "personal struggle". For me, being vegetarian is a form of jihad. But in today's context, jihad has been linked to all these violence.
