I also live in Paris's region, and I'm safe as I was at home when it happened. I also managed to contact all my friends who were also in Paris, and they managed to either go home or find safety (thanks goodness). Thank you guys for your concern.

Trophée Eric Bompard will continue, it has been decided a little under 1h ago. A minute of silence will be held at the beginning of the event.
To be honest, it's a relief because the motto "The Show Must Go On" strongly apply here, and to cancel it would be to play the game those crazy terrorists play. But we do not play. We fight back.:angry1:

Ah ok! Thanks for the report. I haven't heard the update regarding this. Well, it's a relief to hear that everyone will be able to go home after the event.
For our non-French speaking members, the airports and borders were intially announced by the French president as closed last night, but they decided to make tight controls instead. So everyone will be able to go home, but it will probably take a longer time, so go to the airport the soonest you can to be sure to catch your flight back home.

Btw ISU just posted that TEB is officially canceled. Seems like it's the government's decision that it's better to cancel it. Waiting to see how they're gonna figure it out what to do with the competition result..

I live far from Paris so everything is okay for me but I was devastated when I saw the news. I have friends living in Paris and fortunately everybody is safe.

Humanity is not going down. Statistically we shouldn't lose faith.

I'm sorry, but I really dislike when people claim something along the line like "I lost faith in humanity" or "Humanity is going down the drain." Because it makes me feel like people think they live in a bad world. The world is not evil. There may be some evil people, but that shouldn't put a label on saying that humanity is going down the drain.

That being said, I do hope that the nation of France is able to recover and make themselves stronger than before.

To me this small question is what people shoud ask themselves and then act based on the answers they get. I'm sorry you got hurt because of this question but you could also use less harsh and definitely less accusing response.
If there is a mediator here I ask them to delete my post before hurting other people and again I'm sorry if it did hurt somebody else.

I apologize for my choice of words that I used. Sometimes I don't think before I respond, and then later realize I could have said something differently.

It wasn't exactly offensive to me. It gave me more of a feeling that said, "I don't want people to think negatively of the world."

Does anyone have any idea how the cancellation of teb would be handled? Though I am totally with their decision to cancel the event because obviously the safety of skaters should always come first, I'm wondering what they'd do about calculating the points for those skaters.....
