Maybe the issue with Liza's SP is that she had to skate last? You know skating last brings a lot of pressure. I hope that she can go to GPF. But even not, it does not matter, Liza has been through worse. She is strong and she will not give up.

PS: Can anyone tell her that dress is not very...fitted? :sad4:

hmm yeah maybe u're right & its mainly a mental problem
If it is its imo the pressure of the successful prev year Maybe she feels the pressure to deliver the same results, defend etc It can be pretty intimidating & Mishin stated the same about the champions struggling the follwong years of success.
yeah we'll be here & supporting! thats why we're sitting here & trying to figure what to do (not that she'll read it & take into consideration:laugh:)

Liza's friendhip not only with Yuli but with Zenya T & other girls from the team is adorable. She's a fery freindly & sunny person. (hehe https://instagram.com/p/-HSg-NTQWW/?taken-by=liza_tuktik)
Her example really should make young girls more self assured & hopefully will inspire more brilliant champions like our Liza.

This is a good thing, I think. Especially if Liza doesn't get to go to the GPF. What has been worrying me about that scenario is not so much missing the GPF as the GPF (not that I don't care about that - of course I do), but I found the thought of her going from that SP, without the chance of a redemption skate LP.... and directly into Russian Nationals... well, worrisome. Now this way, she gets another outing, and chance to skate better. And another chance to skate/compete herself into form.

Yeah, I was thinking that the deadlines of all the possible competitions between now and Nationals - it's in little over a month, after all - would have passed. I'm glad they found this option for her.

Me too. Although it's a weak field I think an opportunity for her to get the programs out there again is invaluable. So glad they worked this out.
 
It's not really good news... and I guess Mishin knew or could guess.

The International Skating Union (ISU) has approved a proposal to amend the composition of the Grand Prix Final in Barcelona on 7 skaters or duets in each kind instead of six and offset the results of Grand Prix in Bordeaux, France on the results of the short program, said the agency "F-Sport" a source in the ISU.

The proposal initiated Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FFKKR) and supported by most of the major federations in the sport meant qualification for the Final six skaters / duets on the basis of the overall standings Grand Prix, as well as two more athlete / duo participated in the interrupted Grand Prix in Bordeaux.

Well, we'll see how everything shakes down. I'm sad for Liza and don't think counting only SP results is "fair," per se, but 6+1 seems like the most reasonable compromise under the situation. It's unfeasible to gather the skaters together again to skate an LP... Sometimes there are more worrisome things in this world...

Meanwhile, let's cheer for Liza at Warsaw Cup! I just want to see a semi-clean version of that SP (or maybe a change to "I Put a Spell on You") + see Liza performing the heck out of that LP.

I agree with everything - barring that. I think there is quite sufficient spellcasting going on this season as is - we don't need another one....

Warsaw Cup should be a good warm-up for the GPF, assuming she gets a spot there. It wouldn't be the same final without the reigning world champ!

any first Substitute Skater/Couple (placed 7th in the above-mentioned 2015/16 Grand Prix ranking) will be invited to join the qualified Skaters/Couples, provided that this/these Competitor(s) has/have skated the Short Program/Short Dance at the event in Bordeaux.
This means if Liza is the first substitute she will be in?
