Yuzu has given his bouquet to Honda Takeshi as well. -Maybe he chooses his male commentator sempais to give flowers to to avoid rumors about him and ladies?
Lol that was my assumption as well. He definitely seems the type  Even in photo's/selfies he's conscious of his manners towards the ladies.

He may go to the new competition in the US instead, the world team challenge event.

But the team event is at a different time, after the WC. The 4CC is the only major international competition before WC. There is a long break between national and WC, over 3 months. I assume he would want some competition experience before WC. Also, he has never won the 4CC. 4CC is also scheduled at around the same time as the Olympic Game. Both 4CC and the 2018 Olympics will be held in Asia. So giving good performances at 4CC can help him learn to peak at the next Olympics. I see more benefits of going to 4CC than the team challenge cup. IMO, if he can choose, 4CC is a better choice.

Dont forget that 4CC is two more trips (a round trip) across the ocean...travelling that far is tiring. If the goal is to keep him healthy and rested, it may not be in the plans...if he has a choice.

And with only 2 spots for Worlds, JSF may choose to give other skaters (Taka, Dice) more exposure and points for the rankings at 4CC. And if he goes and wins, he'll surely have to go to Japan for a while for interviews and stuff, between that and the traveling he may lose training time.
Then again, it's Yuzu we're talking about. He may think "well, might as well go and win the only competition I'm missing" It could give him a chance to test himself against Patrick, Boyang and Denis one more time before Worlds.

For him, traveling to 4CC is the same as traveling to Japan. I don't think he is physically that weak, that traveling becomes a health concern.

4CC is not as prestigious as world. But 4CC is still a major international competition. The spots still need to be earned. Skaters need to have good results to be given a spot to 4CC. So far only Yuzu, Shoma and Dice have good results at the GP. (Mura has a bad performance at SA and ok performance at NHK.) I don't see the logic to give lower-rank skaters the 4CC spots just to give them experience. Even if they give the lower-rank skaters the chance to compete at 4CC, it should not be at the expense of the best performing athlete.

Other athletes from North America will need to travel to Asia to compete in 4CC as well. It's only not worth the travel if the skater doesn't see much value in competing at 4CC.

I don't think he needs to go to Japan for interviews if he wins 4CC. The reporters will just interview him in Taiwan.

After GPF he has Nationals, then a show with Mao in 1st week of Jan. I prefer him to rest and have enough training and recovery for Worlds if he wants to win it back.

Chan/Javi/Denis have easier or no competitions at their nationals while Yuzu case the competition is stiff, plus all the interviews/events that will come after national. He needs his rest.

After worlds then the team event if he takes part. Then come summer ice shows, cm, events and what not. Then training for next season. Then next season starts.

To me he has not had a proper rest since the Olympics.

He often under-performs at the first competition after national. E.g. 2013 4CC, 2014 Olympics, 2015 WC. I think that's mostly due to the long break after national that causes him to lose his competitive mindset, not the lack of training or rest. He also always under-performs at his first GP even when he is well trained and well rested. I think that's also due to a long break off season. There is a really long break between national and world (over 3 months). Resting and not competing for that long is probably not a good idea.

His programs are very risky. He needs to be mentally ready to compete, not just physically ready. He can only be mentally ready when he competes more. I think he already has enough rest.

I think I read an article in which Brian said that yuzu might not take part in competitions in Asia aside from nhk and nationals?

I don't know. I only remember he said that Yuzu won't have that many competitions in Asia as last season. But I do think Yuzu needs to have some competition experience before the world championship. Base on his past record, he almost always give a sub-par performance at the first competition after a long break (excluding senior b, where there is little pressure).

Whatever he decides to do, I guess we'll just have to support him!

Absolutely agree with gsyzf here, I believe going to 4CC will only benefit him as it is the same time as Olympics, also it will help him to keep his competitive mindset for Boston. I don't think he has to come back to Japan for interviews and he isn't that weak not to handle traveling. JSF will Choose Him and shoma for sure , but decision will be up to him imo.

he really lacks that 4cc gold tbh

My greatest moment was Yuzu being very happy and shocked after his score came out, both him and Brian and their cute reactions!! (of course, we can't forget Pooh san's kawaii reaction too XDD )

AGREE!! I still can't get over their reaction I thought it was so priceless. :luv17:
He looked like couldn't believe his eyes and actually went down to check and point at the screen to Brian like '300???!!!' and then Brian's shiver (same Brian, same..)

Even I thought Pooh looked happy too!

Oh but his accomplished big adorable smile at the very end of the program is lovely too it's like he broke character a split second before it ended haha.

Thanks for everyone who's been sharing stuff. Sorry can't quote everyone of you to thank y'all.
