Mao my love, do a Yuzuru and ditch that Lutz in the SP. Lutz is for losers anyways ;)

If she just goes for a 3l or 3t, it would still be worth more than her flutz. She popping the jump overthinking going on the outside edge. It's not worth it Mao.

btw saw the tweet

You are in the venue and want to be on the big screen? Tweet a pic and use #SelfieGPF

Ppl in Barcelona rn DO that & we can see you!
I always wondered how forum members looked like:agree:
(but dont make out Kovtun style, we need to see your faces! )

It's not about being worth it. Mao IS one of the only skaters that can actually do a 4 triple sp with the maximum value for the technical score. Knowing that, she doesn't need another pair of GP medals (or even world medals), all she wants is to give us the perfomance she thinks we deserve. Heck she doesn't even need those 3A to win competitions but she do them anyway.

For some odd reason the ISU Livestream just showed Elena R. warming up with her coach Inna. She's running around as I type this.

We were wondering about that as well  they showed her on the screen at the venue, too.

Thanks for the practise vids. Most are taken from a distance so you really see how fast they go - you don't get that sence from TV. All amazing athletes. Also, the difference between the person doing run-through and the rest. The run-through person a lititle stiff, a few babbles. The others looking relaxed, flowing in/out of jumps.

Yes I often appreciate practice and fancam videos for seeing the speed and ice coverage which resemble live view more than the close up official camera work. Facial expressions? As I said before, they matters only to official video viewers at home, except for the start of a program when the judges have a good look.

Doing a whole program with elements is completely different from practicing just the elements, and doing the program being the sole centre of attention is another whole different story even run throughs at event practice can't compare. As it has been said, there are many world champions at practice and very few at competitions.

So Pamigena and I did not do the tweet thing to be on the big screen, but we showed up on there, nevertheless. Not sure if it was on the livestream... dear me, I hope not. They have this thing here called Skimo kiss. Where I come from, we call it "do the little nose, little nose", basically you rub noses with your buddy / partner.

speaker guy tried to get some people to do it, but I think they had no clue what to do. So sure, what happens? facepalm! I turned a nice shade of red, lol!

Odd question, can Satoko jump clockwise? I know she can spin both ways, but could have sworn I saw her do a jump clockwise at the end of the practice session today... ?

Does anyone see who the announcer is? I mean I was watching the streams for the JGPF and it's the same announcer as last year, but I'm wonder who exactly he is.

Ashley's rotations are always questionable to me. In that practice vid I thought Ashley's 3L-1/2L-3S was the best I've seen (could be < though). 3F-3T looked < to me.

Medvedeva is a beast! I think this is hers to win or lose.

I have always said you need to see skating live to really get a sense of how great these athletes truly are. When they're on TV, the camera follows them so you don't really appreciate how fast they're actually traveling. You also don't really notice the difference in speed from one skater to another. For instance, Jennifer Robison of Canada was a slow skater.....Very slow in fact. She also didn't have a good night the first time I saw her. In contrast Elena Liashenko was faaaasssst. She wasn't a big girl but she could generate tons of speed.

^Some skaters appear slowww on camera, so I can only imagine what speed they are in real life.
