2015-16 Grand Prix Final Pairs Free Skate

I can't lie, this event has been all kinds of disappointing so far, especially after the strong SPs....

Xiaoyu YU / Yang JIN (CHN)

Music: Humility and Love (from "Creation" soundtrack)

Teal blue costumes

... fall from her on opening choreo!?
3T
2A+1A+SEQ - she singled, he did 2A+2A
4STh - hard fall
3Tw
5ALi
FiDs
FCCoSp3p - unison off at start from him
Chsq
5RLi
3LoTh - twofoot
3Li
PCoSp3p

Another skate below level. Weird fall at the start, problems on both throws, she pop a sbs jump. Maybe enough for the lead given the skates so far.

FS: 60.59+59.65-2.00 = 118.24, 186.87, 1/3

Apparently Y/J land the quad throw consistently in practice. Hopefully they can use that consistency in competitions

I guess it's one thing to land an element consistently on home ice and another to do it somewhere foreign. Poor girl.

The ice dancers have put a curse upon the arena--"No one but us shall skate well here."

I know this is off topic on what I'm going to say, but that part reminds me of the Spanish Inquisition from "Monty Python." "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"

Oh wow that was a total coincidence that I mention it in a way since the GPF IS in Spain.

Xiaoyu almost fell from the lift??!!!
They kept it together though... But it was the roughest I have seen from them...

What is going on with pair teams? Her elbow got bruised... Sigh...

I still think this program is exquisite, even if this skate was the opposite.

She definitely looks like she's in pain :sad21:

I also don't see this at all? maybe I'm too naieve about the terrible things skaters allegedly think but he looks cheery as he always does, and she looks contemplative... there is a big age gap, I doubt they are best friends or have much to discuss outside skating but they seem perfectly at peace sitting together.

They don't look like they dislike each other, but they're sitting pretty far apart, like they're not really friends lol.. I guess you don't have to be BFFs with your skating partner.

TSL is wrong wrong wrong about Yu/Jin. Give them a little time and I bet they'll be giving Sui/Han a run for their money.

Agree. IMO pairs competition at GPF last year wass phenomenal compared to this splatfest going on right now...

The next group better have some spectacular skates to make up for it.

I think Chinese Fed. invested in the wrong teams this season

God-Hongbo does not look happy
