Haha that's so cute! Perhaps one of them is a fan in the making? :yes2:

Amen. I hope so!

Thanks for sharing with us this moment that yuzu's famous beyond figure skating fans hahahas

Yuzu is a joy to us. I'm gona spread Yuzu virus. My bf, one bff and one cousin already officially infected. My bf is now Yuzu fan, head over heels over his Chopin SP

All the best for Yuzu later. I really can't wait how his Seimei will unfold. Gona sleep early soon and will wake up 4am later. For YUzu, it's worth it :bed:

Its just explanation of elements & execution+bit of spazz haha (beautiful/perfect jumps, amazing, difficult entries and that how he's just turned 21 and how he's astonishing)

And synchronized 4T's from Patrick and Yuzuru. Is what I said in jest coming true? Hanyu/Chan pairs???

LOL OMG that's lovely!! Synchronization 99%! and it actually matched the music playing haha.
Oh ok that seems to be a flip from Patrick.

Somebody in this forum is going tomorrow to see live the gala practice? My friend is not coming with me (too early at 8am:laugh2:), so I have an extra ticket, if somebody that is going has not bought it yet, I' ll give it:agree2:

Do you actually have to buy a ticket for a practice session?

Yeah, there are two option: a whole session training ticket (I bought two of them) or individuals, for the training sessions you want to see. My english is not the best, but I think the word is "ticket"?
I'll bring it with me to the afternoon session, so if somebody wants it, tell me;)

wait, what??? Can we actually attend the gala practice? IIRC it was closed to the public last year. And the gala practice doesn't show up on the proticketing website, unlike all the other practice session. Are you just assuming that we can get in or do you know this for a fact?

We're in page 2121 guys.. could this be a sign? (don't mind me lol)

Anyway as usual.. posting my good luck post before I disappear into the night and come back after it's all done tomorrow haha.
Wishing the best of luck for Yuzu. Hopefully he'll be able to perform well and be satisfied with it. :cheer::agree:

In Yuzu we trust! GO YUZU!!

You're right, there is not open to public, I saw it in the schedule, and misunderstood it:palmf::bed:

 As Yuzuru and friends prepare to practice their gala programmes at 8 am tomorrow morning, they would hear someone banging on the ice rink gates and shouting,"Let me in!, Let me in! Why aren't the gates opened? And where is everyone else?"

Just to be on the safe side I went to the ticket office and asked about that. (Because I would have kicked myself if I could have gone and then didn't) They said that the gala practice is not open to the public. Bummer :( but at least I now get to sleep in after all :bed:

Yeah, that's what I thought after the bummer, I'll go to bed really late after rewatching the videos :hap57:

SP Videos
The Eurosport video was uploaded on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Smf0AzMw9jE

I uploaded two different commentary versions from Universal HD:

Yuzuru Hanyu SP (commentary #1) https://youtu.be/USLUuaw0ZDU

Yuzuru Hanyu SP (commentary #2) https://youtu.be/Mo_IQbo_qss

Haven't seen anyone posted this yet, but this is the Japanese commentary + Oda-san and Matsuoka-san reporting

This video contains footage of the interview with reporters. He repeated how nervous he was, close to how he felt before the free at NHK. He felt the pressure of doing the same as at NHK. He said that he's had two seasons with this SP and then combined with his performance at NHK it gave him confidence. He said he only had really 1 week of practice time since NHK.

I love seeing him talk to reporters; amazes me how well-spoken he is every single time!

Here's another angle of his GPF SP with Nobu as commentator.

Oda-san in the morning practice, he did a run-through that looked like it could be even better than NHK
O: Yes that’s right. Coming here he’s doing wonderful practices, so he just has to do it like in practice.
….
Shoma’s Scores
…..
It’s show time. Last year he made it to Barcelona overcoming all sorts of accidents, regained his strength as a challenger. This year, he’s shown astounding strength in the Series. It’s time to face his strong self and fight.
MUSIC STARTS
Two Quadruple jumps
O: Quadruple Salchow! Flowingly Landed! Jumped out of steps and afterwards, an Eagle, this also had great flow, these things will be highly evaluated and gain points.
Next the Combination
O: Quad toe-Triple Toe!
This one landed too!
O: This one is also perfect. A flying camel-spin from a butterfly. Position, flexibility, rotations good.
This is the second half
A three-turn after an Ina-bauer and from a counter, Triple Axel, this one is also perfect! Change-foot sit-spin.
O: Step-sequence, he is using his body in a big way to catch each note of the music. Wonderful.
He has overcome himself. He must have been fighting enormous pressure! One year ago, he was able to give his first satisfying performance to this program here. So he must have the memories of coming back. But this year, Oda san!
O: In all the elements, he can get plus 3 and at least a plus 2. Despite such difficult elements, such tremendous quality, it was a wonderful program! Amazing!
Playback:
O: From an inside eagle to steps right to 4 turns perfect air position, perfect landing and straight back to the program. Juuust wonderful! This quad toe also height, flow landing, perfect. It will be plus 3! This triple axel is also such a difficult entry, makes you wonder how he can do it so easily. Oh, it’s such a beautiful performance.
A mere two weeks ago at NHK, he thought there might not be anything beyond the scores, but said he had to go beyond, not to do the same program again, but in any circumstances, to be able to give his best. Before the World Champion, the Olympic Champion has shown us a stunning performance. What will the points be? He goes way beyond his best score! Hanyu Yuzuru 110.95! In an instant he has renewed the World Record!

Thank you, guys! I was receiving such a big amount of positive energy while reading about your feelings. I also feel like absolutely impressed.

Here is the translation of russian commentators, enjoy!)

To this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK_EwU_qTJo

Man: Yuzuru Hanyu doesn't close the short program. The winner of the Grand Prix final last year and his program, which he is skating the second consecutive year to the music of Chopin and it doesn't lose from the fact that it is not new. It is like a fine wine, already aged wine, the audience gets the enjoy.
(the program has started)
Tarasova: (4S) With the internal ship 4S into the external ship.
Man: All set of threes, it’s 13.5.
Tarasova: Well, what else to do?
Tarasova: (4T+3T) Oh, what a smart guy!
Tarasova: From the first glance it was clear that he would skate like that. Something has changed in him beyond recognition!
Tarasova: (StSq) I'm straight breathing with him, and so the whole audience.
Tarasova: (after the program) This year, he showed that he did not knowingly carries the title of Olympic champion.
Man: Genius. What else can I say?
Tarasova: It was clear that he was a genius man, because he has such abilities. But what he will develop like that ... that in this year there will be such a huge leap… This is fruits of kilometers of ice skating. This is an incredible hard work, the ability to tolerate a huge load, the ability to go to the breaking of your own records.
Tarasova: Generally when you are working not with the talented athlete, but simply with a genius... I was lucky to feel this. I think that Yagudin was such a man. This is of course... Something flipped in the soul of a coach. Because you do not feel neither of yours abilities nor abilities of the athlete. You may think that you will jump in the sky and do what you want. Because the athlete gives you this opportunity. It is absolutely amazing. Thank them very much for what they do this year.
Man: Yuzuru shows that human possibilities are endless. It seemed that after the Japanese performances it's almost impossible to talk about something better. However, we are witnessing another record performance by Hanyu.
Man: 4S, 4T+3T and 3A. Except the axel, arbitrators put all plus three. For the first time in the history of world figure skating the skater gets over 60 points for the technique. And it looks like the first time all judges have put 10 of execution.
Tarasova: Really? It is very nice. In the second half, when he made the StSq, I have already wanted to get up. He blew people from inside. Blew!
Man: The new world record of 111 points to Yuzuru Hanyu. Absolutely the best in their sport.

JSF staff had urged Yuzu to leave but Yuzu insisted on watching all of Javier's jumps.

Looking at the press con pictures, did Javi have a growth spurt or did Yuzu shrink?

Another great moment caught from yesterday's SP: this poster saw Javi's family giving Hanyu-san a standing O after Hanyu-san's performance; such a classy family!

I think the last one says Hanyu is 27 years old, I haven't had the time to really sit still and try and translate much of it, but some words are universal in their admiration of his skating. :-)

The last one seems to be okay, but the second one says Yuzu is 24 y/o and that he took a year off competition. Guess they're confusing Yuzuru with Patrick

Amazing, simply amazing!!! My thoughts after watching the short program. Simply breathtaking!!!

I'm still in awe of what happened! Just wanted to share my thoughts on yesterday's SP in my most recent blog post http://wp.me/p69Ua2-f2

Skating World Reaction

Fun fact: Yuzu has broken the record of the amount of times a skater has broken the SP WR, he was tied with Plushy at 5 before today.

Speaking of which: Plushy congratulates him again on IG.

Lots of love from Lambiel and fanboying from Trankov

And Yuzu waiting for Javi to finish the jumps, such a good friend and sportsman aside from everything else. You don't find many people like that nowadays.

Jeff Buttle congratulating Yuzu Thank you Jeff for giving Yuzu such a wonderful piece and choreo, they're a great team.

Johnny is in tears and speechless.

I just noticed Yuzu got 22 10s on PCS...that's more than both of his programs combined at NHK!

Philip Hersh
‏@olyphil
French colleague Paul Peret just told me Hanyu’s 22 perfect 10.0 components topped only by @CharlieaWhite @Meryl_Davis 25 for FD at ’14 Oly

GPF 2015 Practice 3 (Dec 11)

https://youtu.be/qYiHbQRAXc0
Yuzuru's clean practice this afternoon.

And synchronized 4T's from Patrick and Yuzuru. Is what I said in jest coming true? Hanyu/Chan pairs???

that was 4T from Hanyu and 3lip from Chan but good synchro

Okay, so it was practice, not competition, and he didn't do the whole program with the step sequences, but everything else was spot on, I think. Feeling so privileged to be here, to experience this. You never know, I thought GPF last year was the best thing ever and I would never get another chance to see Hanyu skate his heart out like this, live. And now... so, so lucky.

Back at the hotel after practice. He was just  ..... that sums it up. And that program  clean run through, didn't skip all too much of the whole program.

He obviously didn't feel like using the whole practice time and wanted to leave. Looked like he did some stroking practice while he was waiting for Shoma to finish his run through (not going to steal anyone's thunder, I assume) Then he did some very quick bows at the center and wanted to leave. And then he came back, skated in a circle a couple of times, did some proper bows, and then he left. we couldn't really figure out what was going on. Maybe the cameras demanded a "proper send off" of something, when he got back to the boards it certainly looked like he was making fun of all the bowing. We had a blast.

We managed to get our hands on a program book after all. Can you find the mistakes? sorry for the crappy picture, best I can do while at the rink

OMG! Don't tell me Javier's says he's skating to SEIMEI
The birthdate is also Javi's hahahahaha

GPF 2015 Practice 4 (Dec 12)

Just came from practice, wonderful as ever. Hanyu's run wasn't clean like yesteday, but I got the impresion he was saving energy, anyway. He did a lot of jumps throughout pratice, landed just about everything. Great stuff.
