Yulia Lipnitskaya

Me too. She said it's her favorite somewhere.
Me three :big grin: It's my favorite SP program of hers along with Sabre Dance. And I know many fans may be upset that she's not going to Euros or Worlds, but I personally can't wait until the next season. If Urmanov was able to help her improve so much in just three weeks, I can't wait to see what they may accomplish working together after a few months! :dance2:

I thought it'd be more likely for two 2A-3T combos, and a 3-1-2 instead, since otherwise she'd zayak, and 3t was always a stronger jump for her than 3s. Too bad she couldn't tack the 3t onto any of the 2As, though. But I just wonder, wouldn't it be smarter to try and do the three jump combo as soon as possible, so that if she misses it, she can do it on the next jump?

I thought it was strange that no combos were done at the beginning, though. A triple toe on the loop and a double toe on the lutz would have given her enough for 4th. It's always harder to do a combination the second time your doing a jump because you know you have to or you'll lose a lot of points If she was 4th I think they would have rightfully gone with her for the team. Nevertheless, she still seems like a brand new skater already and I cant wait to see where she'll be a couple more months.

Megapolis was absolutely amazing. It seemed entirely new and she just radiated emotion outwardly.

I'm obsessed. No idea why a top skater hasn't picked something from Wicked to skate to yet, but Yulia might want to take your edit for a SP next year ;)

Thank you! I wonder why too....

I would really love to know what is going on here...lol, Yulia and Elena are so funny together.

I agree, but if she wants to be able to beat Medvedeva she has to do the combos in the 2nd half. So I think that this is a long term strategy, that's why she needs a lot of competitons in the near future. This is a different rhythm than what she was used to. All skaters need to adapt. Maybe the ISU will do something about the 10% bonus after the next Olympics, but certainly not before that.

Well, Sam said that she was maybe planning to do a combo on the flip, and if she was doing only a 2S, which I doubt, there would be at least one combo in the first half, but she still would have the 3T for the second half - and if she was doing two 2A+3T, then she still needed to tack a 2T at the end of her lutz, and that would be fours combos total in the program.

I don't think she is actually planing on two 2A+3T, probably just one and then one 2T at the end of the lutz, and maybe the combo of 3F+1L+3S at the first half - that wouldn't make her zayak any jumping pass. That's three combos. But at least she has a bit of an edge on Medvedva because Yulia is trying two 3Z, and two 3S when Medvedeva does two 3F and two 3T, though she have 5 jumping passes on the second half, while Yulia only has three. It's a small edge, but it certainly makes them even in the BV area.

I shouldn't be trusted on jump layout discussions. I'm not too knowledgable in maximizing layouts like others here are. I honestly don't think she's ever done a 3f in combination but then again she never has with a 3s either.

Oh, that why I said maybe.

I don't even think she is actually going for a combo on the flip, because her lutz and loop and even the salchow look like a much better choice for a combo right now. But we don't know how the training is going, so I think we're only going to know the real layout when she actually skates it clean.

I don't remember the last time I saw her do a loop....let alone so well. I bet they spent a lot of the time reworking the loop and Salchow and just trusted that the 2a-3t's would fall into place.

I remember her doing a double loop in TEB last year. After that in the russian skates I don't remember if she actually went for a loop. It was indeed a surprise to see it so well done at RN.

EDIT: she did a 3L at GPF last year too. But nothing like this one.

I thought her edge jumps looked lovely (mentioned this before) and I think it can be like her 'secret weapon' when she's still not consistent with her flip/lutz (to be put into one or more combo). Say if she's able to tack in a combo after her 3L/3S it'll be nice. And I don't think I've seen her do the 3 jumps with half loop/loop combo so if she's been practicing that I'm so looking forward to it!
Also, I think she almost always hit 2A-3T pretty consistently and that's a big point gatherer too (especially in 2nd half, a la Satoko) so it'll be good once she's more comfortable with everything else.

I'm not so good with all the jumps layout and the 'calculation' (more like I'm just too lazy to try  ) so not even gonna try with listing down the possible whole maximizing points/best possible layout haha.

Oh and  at that top 3 after SP gif. Julia and Elena are like the definition of 'we can understand each other even without saying a word.'

More photos from the same blogger. Can I call them the best quartet?[emoji23]

That time when Yulia grabbed a hold of two Russian girls and dragged them all over the place

I know she's just being nice but this poor kid's standards for kissing with girls is going to be unreasonably high from now on ;)

Then again Yulia herself may have pretty high standards

I'm so glad she got to participate in this gala. She is having so much fun and really gets involved with the other girls not named Zhenia :drama:

Love it! Do you know where I could find a video for the SP post conference? I've been looking, but I can't find it anywhere

You can watch it here but there's no translation. It's weird that Yulia is the most smiley one on the whole panel, especially with Elena there...
