Newest article Monday morning, he said he thought the best competition was NHK; GPF is where he grew the most. Regarding Worlds in Boston, he said of course he wants to win, but more importantly is how to do the same performance as in NHK and GPF. He again mentioned that he thought he needs to have more types of quads, will practice until March to see.

The layout with 2 3As and 2 3 lutzes is begging for zayaking, the risk is great, the difference in points small. And given that Yuzu's 3 loop is good and his 3 lutz is a wild card, there may be no points difference at all.

To truly maximize the points he'd have to gi: 4Lo, 4S, 3F, 4T, 3A-3Lo, 3A-1lo-3S, 3Lz, 3Lz-3T. Again, this is begging for zayaking, but he could try it during the Olympic season, to up the ante. Unless he masters the 4Lz or tries going fir 4 quads by that time of course.

Brian's foot note for this jump lay out.

4Lo, 4S, 3F, 4T, 3A-3Lo, 3A-1lo-3S, 3Lz, 3Lz-3T

If you pop the 4Lo to 3Lo, you need to downgrade the 3Lo in the combo (jump 5) to 2Lo.

If you pop the 4S to 3S, you need to downgrade the 3S in the combo (jump 6) to 2S.

If you pop the 4T to 3T, you need to downgrade the 3T in the combo (jump 8) to 2T.

Did Yuzuru slip during the Step Sequence? 2:35.

Complete and total exhaustion. He said that several times during the press conference and interviews after GPF. I'm impressed he did as well as he did, and am a bit surprised some thought he could repeat NHK and GPF? To me it's like breaking the world record in the marathon, then doing it again a short time later. Then your body screams "NO!' - it needs to recover.

Unfortunately, I don't think the grueling schedule for NHK, GPF and J Nationals will change. J Nationals have been held for 86 years. NHK Trophy 35 years. GPF is a fairly recent addition.

If he is indeed planning on learning figures, that is great news!

Hopefully will have a good rest and doesn't push too hard in the ice shows!

I hope the 4Lo is kept in the closet until next season :slink:

He doesn't have any 2A, 4A or 4Lz in his programs, so there is low risk of zayaking if he repeats 3A and 3Lz. The risk of zayaking is high when a skate has too many jumps of the same type, e.g. 4T, 3T, 2T or 4S, 3S or 4Lo, 3Lo. 3Lz gives a higher BV than 3Lo. For whatever reason, his 3Lo doesn't get high GOEs. I don't think his 3Lz is problematic. His 3Lz usually gets higher GOE than his 3Lo. His 3Lz is only problematic in the Chopin SP. His layouts for the past 3 seasons all include two 3A and two 3Lz in the second half of the programs. Whether he will add 4Lo to his program depends on his 4Lo success rate in practice. If he does add 4Lo, I think his 4Lo success rate would be reasonably high. It is quite likely he will go for 4 quads by the Olympics.

Some people didn't have much chance to have fun during NHK and GPF, so they're taking their chance now....caz you know, they might not have that chance again at Worlds :handw:

I'm relief that Yuzu is not going to 4CC, it seems like there are still quite a few improvements he would like to work on for the FS (and no I'm not referring to 4Lo). I'm excited he'll be spending more time to work with Tracy to further improve his skating skills. Yes get those Stsq4 back baby!!!!

Agree lol. It's like once he fails to give flawless performance they're so ready to attack his score just because.. Look! He fell! He shouldn't score 100! And so on and so forth. Funny eh.

Yes hopefully he'll take it easy and focus on improving what he thinks is necessary. I also look forward of that lesson with Tracy. He so wants to get that level 4 it's almost funny the way he said it like (your performance/skate is perfect) uhh but the step sequence... :hpull:

Yuzuru's moe? Aegyo? Cuteness? Whatever you call it, even the security guy can't resist

OH MY GOD???!! :o: :luv17:
SO CUTE!!!

And him striding with that long coat haha he looks tiny!

Hm been following all these talks about possible jumps layout.. :coffee: (my brain just can't compute now so good job guys) really curious to see if he's gonna end up putting another quad (ofc after careful consideration and based on the practice result) before this season ends. I want him to feel really comfortable with it if he ends up adding one more into the program but if it's not then it's completely alright. The most important thing is to keep him fit and be able to perform to his best, just like what he wants.

Uh sorry for double post! (I just wanna use more smileys ok!) ;)

Ye... he needs more types of quads. He has almost 40 points advance overall of the nearest rival and he needs more quads :rofl2:

I hope he doesn't obsess with that too much. I may be selfish but since I'm going to worlds largely to see him I'd rather see him have a clean skate than to "test out" new quads at worlds and fall.

Thought the same, maybe ten years or so, but when I looked for it: 20 years!!!, time really flies and I'm getting old :drama::palmf:

Did he mention that specifically somewhere? Sorry it's so many interviews it's hard to keep up.

Agreed with you on the rest.

Any news on Medalist on Ice? What time will it be? Will it be live streamed? Thanks

The gala show starts at 17:00 by local time and Fuji TV will broadcast it at 18:00.
