No, I don't think the RusFed has anything to do with it - except choosing who gets to go to Worlds'; the third member of a team is to be chosen by popular vote from the skaters who are at Worlds':

And:

" Two of the ladies and men and all of the pairs and ice dancers for each team will be chosen from the top-ranked skaters on the ISU World Standings as of January 1, 2016. "

One of the ladies is Liza.

Interview with Liza after the FS:

She sounds pleased with the 3A despite the 3-turn out on the landing. It would appear the error on the flip was far more distressed for the rest of the program, and she was aware of how many points she'd be losing for that mistake.

In all, she seems at peace with her season potentially being cut short, and that her main goal is 2018.

Liza has done her best so far. Just take a few days off and get ready for a happy New Year celebrations!:dance3:Your hard work and fighting spirits are highly respectable, and also a big THANK YOU to your team for their selfless efforts to make you grow.

Liza may have to skate in the Russian Cup Final...
""We want to raise the status of Cup of Russia, to those who do not hit the cherished troika for the European Championship, continued training and participated in the Cup of Russia, that we have not lost a high level of readiness. The decision on the executive committee was made", - said Nagornykh journalists."

Reading the gala thread, I believe much of the laughing was due to the fact that Liza's was the third "I put a spell on you" in a row?

Yeah. Worlds is still possible if one of the Russian girls bomb at Euros. It's quite unlikely that will happen but there's a tiny possibility. Anyway, we shall see.

Not that I want to, but Anna's international showings this season (Mordovian excepted) were all pretty bad. Anna has to skate next to perfect at Euros to book a place on the world team. Otherwise, she'll open the door for Liza at Russian Cup Finals.

A brief interview with Mishin http://www.sports.ru/others/figure-skating/1035785470.html
According to Mishin, victories usually alternate with defeats in an athlete's life. Liza's missing at Euros is undesirable but expected, but their main goal is 2018 Olympics, and very soon she will take part in some international tournament and the Russian Cup final, which is traditionally considered one of the qualifying stages for the Worlds.

About the Worlds, I do have mixed feelings. To be frank, it is really weird not to see the Reigning Champion defending her title at this big event. Anyway hope dies last. I am still hoping for the best.:clapper:

I didn't (and still don't) get those 'queen' pictures. I first thought they were photoshop works but seeing more pictures and a short video shocked me. I have being hesitated to say these but I really don't feel right. There have been other great skaters like Yuna etc. Did Yuna have such 'queen' pictures?

Please don't beat this dead horse again...
