Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

I didn't (and still don't) get those 'queen' pictures. I first thought they were photoshop works but seeing more pictures and a short video shocked me. I have being hesitated to say these but I really don't feel right. There have been other great skaters like Yuna etc. Did Yuna have such 'queen' pictures?

Do you know why were taken those pictures?

You have to look ahead and move on. Great as she is, Yuna's era has passed.

I certainly do. We are talking about the lady with the best jumps of any lady in the pre- and post- Sochi quadrennial. There are none to match her. She is the Queen, the true Queen, just as Plushenko remains the men's King.

Well, this is a fan thread for Liza, so don't be so alarmed. Fans tend to praise anything related to their idols and want to revere them with various decorations regardless of how others view their idols. I've seen many colorful and sweet words towards their idols even though I don't consider them at once as a queen, king or princess, etc except worthy skaters in my standard. Or some fans want to call their idols a goddess or god of figure skating, but fan fest is allowed for such indulgence and of course for no slander or spreading false info against other skaters.

If any skater wants to be called something big, then, time will tell naturally. The notion of a leading or dominating lady or man of an era is not made up by their fans, but mostly by their achievements on their own, appraisals and praises by experts, the press and public or even fans in their rivalry. I do understand your feeling though. I think you would better go to Queen Yuna's fanfest if you want to know she has taken such pictures. :)

I think Elizaveta Tuktamysheva' fans here usually have a cool head, unlike some other "fans". Whether she is a newly-crowned ice queen does not make much practical sense to me, but what really matters is that she has so many supporters/followers around the world.

If I were not a fan of Liza, how would you have a chance to see me here or my posts that cheer for Liza on other threads? I don't lurk fan threads of other skaters all the time except my favorites. The above analysis of mine is applied to all types of any figure skater' fans as far as I've witnessed ever since I've followed figure skating.

I take your "usually having a cool head" as a compliment for me since I'm trying to be objective towards my favorite skaters. :) You need to put your "cool head" theory into practice first though. However, not all fans even in a same place are alike, as people are. Liza will have my support of course.

Reading the gala thread, I believe much of the laughing was due to the fact that Liza's was the third "I put a spell on you" in a row?
some onloker in the audience posted that Liza had a big laugh (as the whole audience) when she was waiting before IZ were about to go on ice b/c IZ used this as well & indeed that 3 Spells went head to head:rofl::rofl2:

that was the biggest trolling of the comp:laugh2:

You are right in saying that opinions vary from person to person even though we are supporting the same skater, but to keep this fan thread going smoothly, it is better for us to remain rational in assessing the skater's abilities. Blind following is not my personality, either.

Didn't you realize that my first post today here was directed at bsfan, right? You need to calm down. I don't think drawing a line recklessly between "we" and "the others" is a wise way to keep the fans together because some people have only one favorite as opposed to others with multiple favorites at the same time. Possible new comers could be driven away.

Please don't jump to conclusions. "Didn't you realize that my first post today here was directed at bsfan, right?" Your such way of talking is really funny! Who disturbed my peace of mind, btw? No more replying.

It was for the cover of a Russian magazine, ergo, it was most likely the publisher's/editor's idea, not Liza's. Liza had a very successful comeback after a long spell recuperating from injury, so it was appropriate.

Your attitude is really noteworthy. Your peace of mind can be found soon if you look back on yourself. I hope we can talk about our beloved Liza in a more constructive way next time. :)

Plus the magazine is published by the Russian skating federation, so I agree all the more that it prob. had complete editorial control over the cover concept. And that Liza had none.

I wouldnt have complained if it was Liza's idea either:cool:
no false modesty is needed
I hope she knows we consider her Queen:agree:

and other replies:

I just used Yuna as an example since she was really great. I didn't care about Yuna or Mao or whoever around their time. And that made me more calm to whatever happened to them. But as a fan (cool headed) I do hope Liza stay focus. They have much harder field in ladies in Russia that last cycle in World.

Since the so-called "QUEEN" photo shoots have passed for a long time, it is inappropriate to raise this issue again at the moment when she is down. Although this is the fan thread for Liza, it is an open space for discussions on stuffs related to skating/skaters, except for those trouble-makers.

I think my attitude towards other posters is always very friendly and polite and I am NOT driving any other new-comers away. This is not bragging but the truth. BTW, I stay calm all the time no matter what.

It was my first time talking about those pictures. Where is the 'again"? Who is not making this 'an open space'? who are 'those trouble-makers'?

I have been focusing on topics about skater(s) while I posted. No need to state my attitude or to bother others attitude.

The thing is, those photos were taken sometime in the spring, I think - and published a bit later. They have been talked about quite a lot. So, it does feel like your ciriticism came out of the blue. So people were probably wondering why we were to discuss them "again".

My biggest issue is that there haven't been enough gaudy Russian photoshoots of Liza dressed like a Queen/old Hollywood star/other high-fantasy character.

Seriously, if she's going to skate like she's been busy doing photoshoots, I'd like some actual photoshoots to ease my horror
