I kind of canI admire Yuzuru's constant eagerness to learn from everyone regardless of age, sport, and accomplishments. But I can't imagine how it feels to be on the receiving end of the "machine gun" lol
I had my share of small children to deal with. When they want to know something, they often just ask away again and again. Things like, oh, I don't know, so who are you getting married to??? 
That's cool that Midori learned from watching Brian...she learned very well. IMHO, she still did the best 3A ever in women's skating but she learned from the best too. His 3A was the best in the business when he was competing. Wasn't he the first to do one at the Olympics... and then the first to do 2 in a long program? And you know, he still gets great height on his jumps when he cheers on his students during competitions, despite not being in his physical prime, lol.

They talked about different things there, skatefan22. While Yuzuru was asked about sex appeal (and he mentioned Daisuke), Daisuke talked about Yuzu's personal qualities like courage and fighting spirit there.
Yutaka Higuchi (Coach, editorial supervisor of the book "Team Brian") said in an interview,
"Yuzuru did not know Brian was a quad jumper (when he was a competitive skater). After seeing the video, it made him have respect for Brian (laughs)"

He never tried in competition ( the first man to land a quad was Kurt browning after orser retired) but it seems he had landed more then a few in practice...
and once again it lasted all of 2 days

What kind of post could be tagged like that, hmmmmm... well, my guess would be that this is a prediction for #Yuzuru's new FS next season. Some dude I've never heard of, #dan howell, heard this from a friend who saw something somewhere on the internet, so it must be true. #John Watson will be his choreographer. No, not the guy from Sherlock, that would be ridiculous, he's not real. Mister Watson said this program would me very #mature and the structure almost monumental, like a great piece of #architecture. I think he likened it to the Taj Mahal. Not putting in that tag seems almost criminal.
As his #music he'll use a mashup of the #harry potter soundtrack and the very best of #marilyn manson. His buddy #bobby edited the music for him and put it up on #soundcloud. A blogger said this bold choice was a clear sign of #depression, but the truth is that he got the idea from a #shoujo manga. I know, he's not exactly the target audience, but he's still #young. Let's call it an experimental phase and not talk about it anymore. We'll just have to #follow the white rabbit on this one.
He hasn't gone #public with this yet, but I already see the potential for a drinking game. The loser has to pick up the #tab.

My being a fan of Yuzuru also roughly coincided with my graduate studies. I must say following Yuzuru's performances (and participating in this forum) served as a breathing point in the academic grind of this quite desperately homesick student then.
I believe Yuzuru having a grateful heart is one of the reasons for him being as successful as he is. :yes:
I hope one day Yuzu will go to them again for full choreo because their style seems to suit Yuzu's dramatic flair
Even if that never happens (I hope though it will), I think IB and NB's influence on Yuzuru will always stay with him. SEIMEI seems to me to have traces of R & J 1 particularly the last "fighting" choreographic sequence. But, one thing I remember is that he said in Japanese, literally meaning, Yuzuru saw the video and suddenly started respecting Brian (for the quad jump, I think). I could easily imagine Yuzuru's reaction; he was maybe with this face
Of course, I know Yuzuru had respect for Brian before this. But his respect seems to have been intensified further by knowing Brian's technical ability, and I believe his words have become more convincing for Yuzuru.

Yuzu did a really nice 4S in the finale, or that's what the announcer said he did...it was so blurry. I hope there will be a video soon.

I watched NYOI on live stream. It was a beautiful show. Yuzu did Final TIme Traveler and beautiful and perfect Quad Sal in the finale. But he was just positioned as one of many legedary skaters, so it would not give him mush burden. No group number for him either at the opening or finale, so he probably did not participate in the prepartaion either. My personal best was Johny's Creep and Kostner. They moved me somuch emotionally!! Yuzu's FTT was inspirational as always, but he looked bit tired to me.

In this post-NHK 2012 interview with Mao, Akko and Dai, they were asked how do they see each other's existence (Mao/Akko, Yuzu/Dai). He wrote "subete no akogare", that he aspires to be like Dai-chan as a skater, a person and as a senpai (still amused at Dai's answer though). As a skater I think Yuzu looks up to Plushenko and Weir but as a person, he more or less looks at Team Japan for guidance.
This thread moves too fast, I decided to just catch up with the entries at the start of the year.

When was the last time Yuzuru did a 4S at the finale? Seems like forever ago (2011?)
