Backflip? Yuzu? For a moment I thought, wow, Mama Brian really is teaching his boys his old tricks! I loved it when Brian and Scott Hamilton would do them at the same time on Stars on Ice. Cool. Not many do backflips... maybe he'll save that for when Yuzu and Javi are done competing and need some new tricks for shows, lol.

I remember sometime during summer ice show and he tried backflip in the finale. I couldn't recall which time though.
Sorry, I don't even remember hearing about anything like that, never mind seeing any pictures. Of the top of my head, the only thing I remember is that he got declared mascot-sitter when someone else (Elladj?) did a backflip. (I think at the NHK gala?) But that's about it :confused2:

I clearly remember that he did try the backflip on ice somewhere in the summer but I couldn't recall if there is any gif or video.
By the way, a young lord: http://nanoka12.tumblr.com/post/140154182601
 the second one...

No, that's not a backflip.... but nice try. I think you can tell he likes gymnastics !

Maybe this one? Though don't know if that's exactly a backflip:scratch2:

Yes, you are right, that's not a back-flip/ flip or somersault, nor even flip-flop/flic-flac. It's a "Round-Off" - "a dynamic turning movement, with a push-off on one leg, while swinging the legs upward in a fast cartwheel motion into a 90 degree turn; the lead-off to a number of skills".

As a former gymnast, I doubt he can do a back-flip, even if he looks like having fun here and there with his round-off. But if he trains for gymnastics he might be able to do it someday (supervised by his friends Uchimura and Shirai :yay:)

It does look a lot like him...but I can't be sure. The whole advertizing concept is a bit :scratch2:

"We are challenging the world with excellent technical features" concept? I don't know

Nevertheless, time flies. Three years ago, Yuzuru was not so famous as he is now, even after he won the bronze medal at the Worlds. Not so many people knew about him as figure skating was not a major sport in Japan (maybe it still is not in a meaning). It is very likely that this is him.

Tonight, we will be able to see his interview with Shizuka Arakawa. The last interview with her was before Sochi, same year as this advertisement photo was taken?
