Who's Going to Worlds?

This of course was in the FAQ:
"Guests with specific/special dietary needs due to medical conditions or religious requirements should contact the TD Garden at 617.624.1331 or send an email to [email protected]."
If it were me, I think that three days is adaquate to recieve a response from CS. If not, I would be on the phone. I would be nice and polite at first, of course. If they kept ignoring me, I would
gently remind them there is this thing called, "Americans with Disabilities Act" If they kept ignoring me, then I would turn into a real S** O* B****. We are people who pay lots of money to be there.
We are not cattle. If I wanted to be treated like cattle, I would fly on an American Airline.:dev2:

In my experience, the TD Garden has been excellent with ADA concerns. I suspect that they would have someone respond within a reasonable length of time via email if you are not able to get through to them directly on the phone as suggested in their FAQ.

It is my hope they will. I do understand their concerns in general about people sneaking into events. But this event isnt a two hour ball game or rock concert where people can use the food concessions or eat before they come. In general, the meathod used in St Paul at nats works. Scan the ticket and stamp the hand...and people can come and go as they like. Or at Worlds London Ontario, there was easy in easy out, which was a blessing as many times we men had to use the porta potties across the street as the men's washrooms were turned into women's.
I do admire them allowing sealed bottles of water in Boston, and I now see this at many events. But I suspect it has more to do with legal liability than kindness.
Chris who found the drinking fountan at St Paul

I agree. This emptying the arena between events is poorly advised. They should have planned a better strategy. The Ladies free is sold out, so that will be 17,000 people trying to get in on Saturday night.

Today's math question. How many people per minute have to pass through security in say 1.5 hours if there are 17,000 spectators? Answer: 188/minute, or 3 a second. If there are metal scanners involved, such as used at St. Paul, I would say that taking out my keys and cell phone, putting them in the tray along with my note book, going though the scanner, hopefully not tripping it, and packing up took 10 seconds on a good day....does that mean they need 30 metal detectors? Mathman? Anyone?

Designing a hat would be lots of fun! I've done my share of T-shirt and sweatshirt designs for clubs/events before, and it's pretty neat! And even if hats are too expensive, creating fun designs for pins/lanyards are also great!

What do you think, solar?

I added a pic called Master, which you can download a 105K version of for free by right clicking it, or send me a pm with an Email and I can attach a 605k version....

Post 705, who is going to Worlds, has links to pics I came up with, but I made a master jpg now in the album that anyone can download by right clicking on it. Or, I can send anyone a 600k jpg of the master which they can add their name , forum handle or not and import into an MS word doc, size to the size of their pouch, and print it out on photopaper and cut to size. Voila! A ticket pouch with the logo on it! Anyone can send me a PM if they want the 605k over the 105K file size you can download for free from Photobucket. Here is the album on Photobucket with the master. Or, you could just wear a ribbon!

I love it! They look really great :cheer: I love the yellow colors :)

Here is my final version of my personal GS creds...if you see me, please feel free to come up and say hi. I look forward to meeting the members here. Please dont be offended if I dont have lots of time for talk at any given moment...there will be other meetings! I think I know too many people on and off the forum some times LOL!

I am making a list of all that are going to worlds from here in an attempt to try and remember real names should we meet....I have to do this for motorcycle rallys, air races, shooting events, air shows, etc as I meet new and old people every year and I like to at least try and keep everyone's name's straight. Not easy at my age. If you do not wish to be on my list, no harm, no foul. Just send me a PM....I think we should all respect other's privacy should they choose that.

Rule number one at Worlds is to have fun and treat everyone with respect.
Rule number two is "see rule one"

I'm relieved, I suspected you might've already guessed who I was. I've even seen myself posing next to skaters in your pictures you've posted here in the past! (In all fairness, I've never introduced myself as someone from a forum.)

I'll be in Boston the entire week, from 3/27 - 4/3.

Me too! Where is everyone staying? Me and my pal are staying at the Wyndham. Any recommendations for good eateries or bars between there and the venue?

I'll be easily recognisable as the Irish girl wearing a Chewbacca coat, I'd love to meet loads of you good folk so come up and say hello! We're sitting end loge on the judges' side, I think it's section 4. I have a memory from a prior thread exchange with karne that they're sitting around there as well. It's going to be fun putting the faces to the names!

Is anyone else arriving the evening of the 26th and want to split a cab/Uber to the Cambridge area? I'm headed to the Royal Sonesta but would love to split the cost of a cab since it looks like taking the T will take at least 45 min.

I can also rent a one-way Zipcar and if you don't mind my driving we can split the cost and I can drop you off nearby, right now the cost of an hour rental when I look on the app was about $22, roughly the same as Uber. PM me if interested.

Nice list, CoyoteChris! If you're also listing where people are coming from, I'll be flying from Seattle!

iskate mentioned in another thread that she's not coming anymore

Excellent! I'll be there from Sunday afternoon so will have the routes and hopefully some nearby places of note for eating and drinking staked out. Since we first communicated I've been on a healthy and successful weight loss regime and have utterly lost my capacity to drink but that's a good thing - however I wouldn't mind a little beverage with a lunch dinner to meet and get to know people. I know Chris will be posting a list with names etc but if you or anyone else wishes to PM me with their names, I'd be happy to see them so I know what to call you in person!
