Sending them my best wishes as I'm sure they must be freaking out over their late arrival. Trust your training Ladies and you will be fine. It must be very difficult to be patient at a time like this when they know their competitors have been on the ice. Med is so talented but, she's so young and I hope she's able to put her late arrival out of her mind and skate with freedom.
 
Chartrand and Daleman both looked very fit and determined, especially Alaine. Zijun is so super thin in real life. Kuchvalska is such a lovely skater, it was hard to focus on the others in her group. Meite is also super powerful.

Just a few random thoughts while I charge my phone in the concourse since the Russian ladies aren't here.

Pretty sure they & their team planned to arrive now on purpose and know what they are doing. Maybe one practice day tomorrow & the a.m. practice on Thursday is plenty of time for them. They can rest all afternoon and tonight.

I sure hope you're right. I have been riveted to Evgenia since the season began and she is my pick to win the event. More than anything though, I want her to have a good experience at first Worlds.

I have a feeling Medvedeva actually is more focused in a stressed situations. I am not sure about Anna though

LOL. Exactly. It seems like for every program, Lipinski either says that or "he/she/they need this." Before a sbs3Sal, 3-3, or whatever. Triple Duh.

At both events, they skated last ... and they were the first team to skate clean. I'm telling you, it was electric and the crowd went ballistic. :) If you do have a chance to watch, their reactions at the scores are fun.

I seriously wonder how high Chartrand can place if she does 2 CLEAN performances. Because from seeing the videos of her programs from nationals....idk.....I just want her to finally have a clean FP! She never has had a super super super clean FP at a senior international competition.
 
Skylark, I just watched their free skate and wow!! First, what a smart choice to use that Version of their music. You can never go wrong with "Babs" ;) By now, everyone knows what a stickler I am when it comes to posture and as my students used to say "That boy's got it going on......Haaaaaay"

I love her GWTW free skate. Partly in contrast to Polina's ... but Alaine's music actually includes the drama of wartime, and she skates right up to the power of that. But with her skating, you don't have to reference the book or movie in your mind. It's very well done.

:hap93: Yay! So happy you watched it. Danny was the one who wanted the Barbra/Michael version. (Tarah said he's usually just, "okay, fine" about music ... so she and Jim P. paid attention!)

To me, the counterpoint of the vocals reflects the harmony and counterpoint of the skaters so beautifully.
 
Elizabet is looking great! Seeing her live with other skaters, she looks really tiny in comparison, but I think she had a lot of presence.
