To anyone who went to the rink, should I wear a long-sleeved shirt under my T-shirt I'm going to wear AND wear a jacket? Like how cold is it in there?

I'm not there but from my experience in going to past events. I say, take everything with you. If you get too hot you can always tie one of them around your waist. If you're meeting friends. I can promise that someone in your group will be freezing and you'll be able save them by loaning them one of your shirts.

One more note for anyone who's lucky enough to be attending the event. Scream your head off for your favs but, don't forget to stand up for a group or new skater that you've never heard of. For some of them, this event will be highlight of their entire Career and they need your support. Go Everyone.....

Lena is a tough competitor. It has been a couple of times that she was iffy at practice but fought for jumps during actual competition.

It's nice to hear that Gracie hasn't been falling but, what I'd really like to know is how relaxed she is. She can't afford those "Dear In The Headlight" eyes that she usually has during her SP. I love her programs and packaging and I just want to hold it together for 6 1/2 minutes.

Next, it sounds like Medvedeva is looking good and I hope she stays focused and trusts that her big wins have not been a fluke and that she deserves this title.

What on earth is going on with Mirai's boots? Maybe she should switch boot manufacturers after this.

Jackie Wong tweeted that Mirai's boot is being fixed right now. Does that mean she won't use a different pair?

That's what it sounds like. I didn't think to feel depressed quite so soon before the ladie's competition even starts.

If this is her main pair, then this is the pair she feels most comfortable with when skating. She can switch to another pair, but the feel is awkward, especially two days before competition. Hopefully this is just some last minute drama and prompts her to focus more. All I know is, Jackson skates is not looking good right now.

Nope. Broken boots two meets in a row. Not the best advertisement for their brand.

Good news on Mirai's boot. They're working to repair it and will have up and functioning tomorrow.

I just pray to the skate gods that it doesn't happen again - especially in competition. And I hope this doesn't mess with Mirai's head.

Some excitement at men's SP practice this morning:

Per Jackie Wong, "Tense SP runthru for Yuzuru Hanyu, barked at Ten for blocking his path to 3A, fell & punched the boards."

Didn't Ten get in Hanyu's way yesterday during a runthru? Or was that someone else?

I guess Yuzu wasn't kidding when he said he wants "revenge" for losing last year's Worlds.

Woah, can the meet referee give a skater a warning for doing something like that? I think in tennis, players who slam their rackets when they get mad receive a warning.

I'm glad that, from practice reports, Mirai didn't seem to have boot issues this time - but those < on her 3-3 jumps are concerning. Come on Mirai, ROTATE! And get that lutz on the outside edge!!

I'm relieved the Russian ladies showed up! Have to admit I was worried there for a while. Seems they mostly had a good practice, same with the U.S. and Japanese ladies (GO MAO!!).

Bring the extra layers. I was fine in a light fleece all day in the balcony, and now I'm cold in the fleece and a jacket. It seems to really vary.

Woah, can the meet referee give a skater a warning for doing something like that? I think in tennis players who slam their rackets when they get mad receive a warning.

D10 was in mid spin and couldn't see the Yuzutrain coming while Yuzuru was skating backward for the 3A so he didn't see D10 until he turned around to jump. I don't see D10 deserving warning or any penalty though it was his responsibility to get out of Yuzuru's way as it was something almost inevitable to happen in a rink with several big jumping skaters. (I especially wonder about the safety of Pairs practicing on the same ice, what with all those big throws?)

My question is: Did Yuzuru fall in swaying from D10 or in the 3A jump? I really can't fathom him going ahead with the jump.

If that's all the time she needed, it's best that she gets her work done and heads back to the hotel. The last thing she needs is to have a collision with another skater like we saw with the men.
