Night was *very* short here in Boston!!
What happened yesterday in the TD Garden was tremendous, fabulous, ...
The standing ovation at the end of the program was fantastic.
Only C/B and H/D had a standing ovation from the audience when Gabriella and Guillaume started performing their FD. Once again, people were mesmerised by the beauty of the program, the beauty of the skating, the beauty of the choreography, the beauty of this masterpiece of art. As soon as the FD was completed, all the people around me stood up and so did the whole crowd in the arena. It was so spontaneous and unexpected! Unbelievable! Getting such a standing ovation here in North-America while being in competition with the top US couples... Wow!!! This is a moment I will for sure NEVER forget. Was so intense and emotional at the same time. I don't even have the words to describe that...
When the score was announced, the Shibs were already in the rink for warm-up. I don't know if they pay attention to the score of Gabriella and Guillaume but it was hard not to hear it.
They were at home with so much pressure on their shoulders, being the best gold medal chance for the USA, skating in an arena with thousands of people having so much expectations from them. They actually saw the standing ovation from the audience to Gabriella and Guillaume just before getting in the rink and obviously they heard the speaker announcing this super high score of 118 points for their main challengers.
I knew it was really hard to skate after Gabriella and Guillaume but up to that point.... in these conditions.... Certainly not.
Last but not least, the victory ceremony was just great, being next to a few French fans and the lovely parents of Guillaume. You can not imagine up to which point I was happy for them. They are such great people. Gabriella and Guillaume came close to us after "La Marseillaise". Gabriella was so fun I must say, she's such a lovely person you know, I just love her, she gave a huge hug to Guillaume's parents. Thinking of this serious injury and all those terrible moments she went though in September and October... What a mentally strong woman! As for Guillaume, that was such an intense moment, giving a long and passionate hug to his mother and then to his father. So much love between Guillaume and his parents... You could see it in his eyes... Guillaume is such a "beautiful person"... Sorry but I don't have the words... once again...
Gabriella, Guillaume and his parents all together in this moment, that was so nice. They were just like one family. They know each other since many years, since Gabriella and Guillaume were kids.
Sorry if I moved from ice dance to these emotional moments following the victory ceremony but my heads its full of beautiful images from the last two days and it was hard for me to stick to the ice dance stunning performance of our double champions.

Well deserved repeat of their title. No question. The audience was taken with them from the start, and they delivered an amazing program. Well done to them, and to their team.
After a less than promising start to the season with Gabi's problems, I am even more impressed. I sustained a concussion a month after Gabi, so I know how hard it is to recover, let alone get into competitive shape. I have nothing but respect for her/them... and the patience required to get to this point again. I look forward to what next year brings.

Indeed! What a telling pic! Last year, Marie-France was SO surprised, she did not expect Gabi and Guillaume to win given their age. This year is very different and this pic shows how big were the expectations compared to last year.

I'm very happy to hear that Guillaume's parents were here this time, as they couldn't make the trip last year in Shangai. How proud they must have felt. No doubt x1000 more than us.:luv17:

Behind the pain to cure this concussion, the withdrawal of all Grand-Prix, the hardwork to keep up, the stress to start their first int'l competition at the end of January in a position to defend their title and then ending here in Boston for the World's to fight against the best US couples... Well behind the scene, there are "human people" and in this case beautiful people, it's good to keep it in mind, that was the sense of my message.

Hopefully, they will be able to make the trip next year as well - Helsinki should be a much easier trip to make.
Here's to a even better next season - may Gabriella and Guillaume be healthy and be able to get even better!

So true, that was super touching to see them hugging in the middle of this huge crowd giving them a standing ovation. Indeed one of the best pic of these World championships in Boston.
