2016 World Championships Pairs Free Skate

And the third place person was someone making a worlds debut, and the silver medalists also repeated, and said world champions were also injured (I think?) and GPF silver medalists... :p

(So does this mean ladies is like dance?)

If ladies is like dance and that means the top 3 after the SP stay the same after the LP, I'll be a happy fan.

Huh?
Did V/M really ever say that they feel like failures?? I don't recall them ever saying so??

AFAIK, they certainly did not say so at the time that they announced their return to competition next season.

It is very obvious if you watched the canadian show that followed them and their training up until Sochi.

Aliona's ability to podium at every senior event since 2006-2007 puts her on par with... Yuna Kim! Ali-yuna Kimchenko?

It's really impressive for both Canada and Russia that all three of the pairs from each country finished in the top 10. And Canada left their second-best pair at home in Sequin and Bilodeau. It is going to be a dogfight at nationals for spots in the next few years.

It's just beyond my comprehension how people can be so mean with their comments. Every minute following regular threads on this forum makes me nauseous.

Congrats to medalists and good night and good luck next time to everyone else.

It's a podium full of queens :yay:

As a completely unimportant side note, I have come to think that the title queen gets a little overused in figure skating. And regarding Aliona, I somehow find the title duchess much more fitting to her.

That was payback. Maxim must really stop being so disrespectful to Aljona and fellow competitors on a whole. By his own admission he is lazy. They did not prepare fully for this competition and they thought they could just wing it. Either he gets back to working hard or they simply retire.

He said something about Aliona?

It's official, D/R are the first world champions in any discipline to have the word "****" in the lyrics of their free skate. (Not to mention Meagan dropping the s-bomb herself, ahahaha.)

What a weird event.

Congrats to D/R :hap10: - you brought it and deserve the gold. IMO the judging was very fair. Love V/T but just not their day & not sure if I like either of their programs. And please Max,get rid of that hideous hair "bun."

And ALL Russian off podium!! This is so far a horrible, horrible Worlds for Russia. They may only medal in women's and even there, gold is not assured... no pun intended. At least they will medal. But...men, pairs and ice-dance... nothing!!! Shocking!

I think pairs is the only discipline in which it's shocking (and TRULY shocking), men and ice dance were not going to happen :ohwell:

TAT and Gordeeva hate everything about D/R BUT do recognize technical prowess and call the win unquestionable. Gordeeva says that she is puzzled why St/Kl did not beat S/M. Called them the only ones robbed here.

St/Kl are my favorite skaters by far but they underperformed both days. S/M delivered crisp elements and had near equal difficulty.

Well that was...unexpected. Karma payback for Max's comments at last year's worlds? Hmm....

Aliona and Bruno for gold in 2018?

She is simply amazing, wow. A legend in her own right. :)

I wonder what the French fed are thinking now after finally letting Bruno go. Heh. He could never do what he just did for France, no female pair there can hold a flame to queen Aliona.

Did someone find D/R 's coaches tasteless? I mean taking the seats from skaters, really? You can celebrate later, but have some manner for God's sake.
