I know that it's not really the point, but doesn't he also stay during the GP series? That's another month and a half, even though Brian is away fro all of them...

as far as we know Yuzu arrived directly from Japan to Autumn Classic competition, then it is unknown the day he went back to Japan after SC, while Borser was abroad with Javi two out of three weeks before NHK so that Yuzu mainly trained without his main coach , actually the only one formally since Tracy Wilson was removed from the list but we don't know the reason why. But in those crucial three weeks before NHK Chopin SP layout and choreo were dramatically changed and Yuzu took an enormous risk on his shoulder.
then he trained in Japan from NHK to GPF in Barcelona , where he broke the WR twice.

IMO Yuzu 's training situation seems to be very complex.

lol, Daisuke has never been dropped, but you can't just promote the same person over and over again and ignoring the up and coming new talents. And let's not forget that Daisuke has been chosen for Sochi after finishing 5th at Nationals. That's not "being dropped" to my eyes. :rolleye: Geez, some of you guys are being paranoid over NOTHING every time something goes wrong with Yuzuru...

Well, it has nothing to do with what happened today/yesterday. I was thinking about this before the season started.

The biggest problem I see with training with a top rival is not that the coach has limited time available, but rather that it allows your rival to catch up too quickly. Before Yuzuru added the second quad at NHK, no one seemed to view a two quad SP as a worthwhile risk. Now, competitors training under a different coach, could pass off Yuzuru's successes at NHK and GPF as flukes and assume that his success rate in training with the difficult layouts is not all that high, but since Javier and Yuzuru train together, Javier would know how Yuzuru looks in training with those layouts and would fully understand the need to add a second quad and triple axel. Basically, training together puts the pioneering skater at a disadvantage, because it takes away from the time at the top and ultimately, I think it pushes the sport forward too quickly. Yuzuru's overall score this year would have been massive prior to his WRs at NHK and GPF.

I think the reason why Yuzuru is spending more time in Japan is because of the confidence he has in his own skills. He stayed almost full-time the time before the Olympics. Perhaps he will start doing so this season forward. There's no reason for him to miss out on time in Japan these previous two seasons since he's still doing a good job of building himself up before the next Olympics. I've agreed with his decisions so far in his career and I will continue to believe in whatever decisions he makes going forward. Whether it would be staying in Toronto full-time or staying in Japan part time. I just hope he'll be okay and come back strong for next season and of course I will do whatever it takes to see him live again sometime before the Olympics and of course the Olympics! I'm sold that seeing him live is just better than any video, even when he's not at his best.

Brian did say that some days they train together, other days they train apart, so they are attempting to divide things up a bit.

I guess this event/results will provide everyone with talking points until the next time we see him.

David Wilson said that at that time between SC and NHK he was with Jeff and Shae Lynn reworking on his programs

Basically Javi trains under Borser and other two coaches almost full time , while Yuzu spent with Borser not more than 3 weeks from Autumn Classic to NHK and 4-5 weeks before Boston, even if it seems he wasn't training in Oakville last week (?) . it's a total of 7-8 weeks from October to April .Yuzu and Javi don't seem to train together that much.

Tracy Wilson is back on his coach list now.

My understanding is rather simple. Megastar Yuzu has tons of appointments in Japan. His schedule is probably like a dictionary. Apart from his duties and works in Japan, he needs time for his college also even he's staying in Canada. And JSF is not as minimal in terms of size and grasp of skaters' plans, things get complicated in Yuzu's case.

If we are saying that he needs more time focusing on one place to train then the only solution perhaps is going back to Japan, which is my least favorite move. He should have stayed there if he could since 2012. The reality is that Japan doesn't have some crucial resources for him to work to be a tip top skater. No matter what that is. And one thing is that I don't feel like Japan has anyone local who can help him in a role as a rather long-term coach. Secondly, who knows if there will be more non-skating workload or not for him if he moves back to Japan.

I regard the problem is that he's being torn into pieces - everyone wants a piece of him and he tries hard to feed as much as he can. He needs to plan his schedule better. News reported long time ago that Orser had raised his concern but I have no idea how things went on later.

About the cultural gap between Yuzu and the western people, I don't feel anything wrong about this as he's a 21-year-old grown-up. Obviously he's been trying hard to engage more and his effort is rewarded. Listening to his recent interviews, his English leaped to another level (be generous to our baby:laugh:). And I think this is also a very precious life experience for him. People become better by tackling challenges. I think the worst time about communications breakdown had actually gone just as said in Orser's interview, he has found a way to communicate to Yuzu. Looking at their time at backstage, KC and green room, they are just fine and normal.

Thinking it again to myself, he failed actually in the FS not SP and FS. He did badly for one program. There's something wrong but not the whole thing. The world record was just pinned in a few months ago. There's always room to improve and it's good to be alert to potential issues but I doubt swiping everything away all in a sudden would be a right move or not.

Smart Yuzu is definitely planning himself. I saw that recently his long-term supporter Ms Shirota has joined ANA, having said that she will support Orser's work (please correct me if it's wrong). I hope she can improve the training arrangement for him.

David Wilson said that at that time between SC and NHK he was with Jeff and Shae Lynn reworking on his programs

Did Jeff talk about working on SP choreo before NHK?
IIRC Yuzu said he couldn't tell the details and at NHK thanked TCC and Sendai Ice rink. Mystery kid

Yeah, at least for the past two seasons that's the case. Comparing to 2014-2015, I think 2015-2016 is a bit more for Yuzuru to train in Toronto, Javier was not always there at the same time with Yuzu though and vice versa. Before the 2014-2015 season, I believe they spent more time to train together but situation has changed since then.

Seriously, all of this is assumption. No one here knows exactly how much time Yuzu trains in Toronto, how much time Javi trains there (and no he's not full time in Toronto, due to visa, choreo, shows, his own club in Spain and his personal life), how much time they train together, etc, etc.... and to assume that Yuzu stays in Japan because he's confident would describe him as being over-confident and not needing time in Toronto. Seriously, what kind of BS is that? Study, rest, training in Japan ( with Brian giving him instructions and plans to follow) for reasons that have involved studies, long back-and-forth travels between Toronto and his next competitions (considering he's unfortunately not the most healthy man)...

You guys must see the big pictures here: That involves so many criteria, while we don't know much about how he organized himself, I'm 100% certain that Yuzu is involving himself fully in his training and wants to keep improving. Didn't he say, for example, that he wanted to learn compulsary figures with Tracy?

Yuzuru mentioned that he went to TCC because he wanted to train his 4S with Fernandez. Thus your point is kinda right - Your every little secrets will be known by your rival probably. Yet I think Yuzu should expect something like this cause he's exactly the one who always look at the others and then learn the know-how to improve himself.

Sure he can choose to go away from TCC if he doesn't want to let Javier know his plan so easily. But is that a good concept? Whenever someone in the same club chases up closer, he has to go to another club? I am not sure.

And at the same time he also enjoys the same privilege to know his rival's plan ahead also. Javier is now slightly ahead in terms of world champs record, so Yuzu is in the position to chase. Let's see who can deliver next time.

Could anyone please check if this user is quoting Nomura Mansai's interview or I got it wrong from Google translate? https://twitter.com/sttkgs/status/716268162723876864 (there are some other tweets continuing the quote).
Her impression after watchin Worlds on TV. She(or he) is just saying that she has been long time fan of Mansai Nomura and had no interest what so ever in figure skating. But just because Yuzu used Onmyoji movie song and that had something to do with Mansai, she started to watch FS. She is confessing she had never pulled into this kind of new area of interest so deep before and that is only because he used this music. She says thank you Hanyu for opening up new world for her.
She is talkin about his performance today like his axis in the jump was off and so on. I guess she is now quite a hard core FS fan in just 6 months.

(note that the following pictures are from 2015, not from Worlds 2016)

(note: the same goes for half of these pictures)
Everyone please look at this, I dont explain, because I dont want to be told conspiracy maker, just take a look and if you understand what I want to say, I will very happy. All because of Yuzu
