And then again: only they know what is happening.
You see... When I read people complain I can't help but see this picture in my head how Yuzu is a little kid and we all are trying to transfer him from a bad kindergarten to a better one. This picture looks so silly. He's an adult and he is responsible for his performance. He is also responsible of his decisions, former and future ones. If we accept that then we can act like adults to an adult. We really need to do that. Show him respect.
He produced 6 WR this season. His WR stands still. It did not come out of nowhere. It is the result of his hardwork and dedication. And that WR did not change him, he is the same. This is why I know that his achievements will not stop there, no matter if he beats that magic number again or not.

This past week is a challenge not only for Yuzu but also us the fans who love him very much...

Let's take 15seconds to close our eyes and take a few deep breath.....

.....and then watch Yuzu gorgeous exhibition skate dedicated for 311 which shows us that through the many difficulties and challenges Yuzu can repeatedly rise up, every time to become stronger.

:ghug:

you are right about that, 10+ pages to read when you wake up (and 100+ pages in a week) is not easy :palmf:

ohhh hamaguri, sorry to hear you were ill, i hope it wasnt so serious and you are well now :agree:

He's a samurai. He hella always practices like that.;)

Yes for samurai for sure 😁
Although yuzu said he is no a samurai-type. But always see him to have perfect image to do tribute for minamoto yoshitsune. All young, super brilliant, intense, and tragic-- perfect!

No, he can't practice like that if he has a injury. He's not a superman. Brian has reported several times that Yuzuru was in perfect condition and his trauma from January had healed. Yuzuru stated the same. He was reported to take painkiller for his gala performance, not for his free nor for his sp. He himself even said his main concern during free performance was quad salchow. I don't get these blaming Brian for abandoning injured Yuzu and taking care of injured Javi. Brian is a professional, he knows when things in his condition ring bad. He was sure Yuzuru was healthy. I'm sure Yuzu thought so too. Yuzuru is a very smart guy and would take drastic measures to fix his condition and Brian would know if anything was wrong. It's not fair to drag trauma in here when we have nothing to support that.

Ohh, how sweet! Thanks!
And do you remember, when the page got into 2400 page before the day of SP (JP time), we celebrated and predicted this thread would proceed by 30 pages in a few days. But now, look at this page! We reached 2485 page, during just 5 days! Crazy!

That's what puzzles me. How can anyone victimise Yuzuru, and envisage him as a helpless pawn in the hands of the evil JSF or TCC when he's clearly assertive, ambitious and knows his mind? That was the same boy who came up to David Wilson and asked him for a programme that would give him a chance for the Sochi Olympic Gold?
One bad night just obliterates every achievement Yuzu and TCC have had together - and one bad night still providing the second result of all them all. Oh the amount of drama here. He's been temporarily crushed, it was visible for a day or two. OK, there's another task he faces - how to manage his peaking.
He's strong, he's been through worse times, he's not alone - I'd give the credit of being able to get over his difficulties. These are not unsurmountable problems.

Whatever has happened and will happen, I only hope It will be a happy ending. People here know I am not a fan of Yuna. But following the whole mess of splitting between her and Orser, it wasn't easy at all especially for her. People should know that Yuzuru is more outgoing but he is also very sensitive. I hope this will be sorted out soon. Poor my boy I want to know if he will recover soon. And We have to endure the question "will he be able to deliver in big competition" for the whole year!!! He will! Let's believe in the kid!

The latest rumours are Yuzuru's had problems with his left foot since last January. But no idea whether those hampered his performance.
I'd say it's the weight of pressure and expectations that made him fall apart. Self-imposed expectations too. Too hard on himself to expect nothing but perfection.

「難度をどんどん高くしてきたことを誇りに思っている。現在、世界記録を持っている人間として、より新しい扉を開けるような存在になれたらと思う」と語った。

:yes2: Yes!! Yuzu that's how you tell it. Don't make people forget that. Am so proud of our boy, instead of self-depreciating comment tell them what you have achieved and how you have moved the sports forward.

Finally, the voice of reason. The breakthrough this year has been unbelievable - and it's good seeing Yuzu recognising his own contribution.
and secretly, I'm happy Yuzuru's not altogether alone on the summit. The challenge from Javi and possibly Boyang Jin in the future is what keeps him moving. Just keep healthy and well, young man. You're an incredible talent.

Hanyu seems to be very strong and determined to others, but even the strongest needs help some time, maybe he himself coudn't tell exactly what was wrong, so it would have taken lots of time to sort it out, a time, Orser didnt have, Hanyu knew and felt that, there was also the language-barrier. He needed talking to a person who understand his character or justwas comforting him. "I feel lonely" - its seems to me a desperate cry after such a person. Parents are often not the right persons to do this talking, they want to protect too much.

Hanyu will find a solution.
Sometimes I like discussing everything to the bare bone but now I feel its time to bury it - just for my part . Feel free to discuss it further.

The link to this translated interview with Yuzuru was already shared by alia jackson (:thank:) back on page 2454, post #36799. I have decided to re-post for those who may be interested but might have missed it. Not a recent interview but I found it to be insightful nonetheless.

Maybe we sometimes forget that unlike Javi, Yuzuru is not alone in Toronto but lives with his mother who does her best to provide for his day to day needs and is a source of constant support for him.
...and I really wouldn't worry about his "I feel lonely" comment. I could be very wrong but I'm pretty sure there will be a spin on that. (been fooled too many times by Japanese TV:laugh:)

Second to this!!

Also, i still can't grasp my head on the fact that boyang is world's bronze medallist!! On his first ever worlds!! I have a very soft spot in my heart for boyang. He kind of remind me to young yuzu 😁. If the bronze medallist in first world appeareance pattern is true, he could became oly gold medallist!! But please boyang, do that after yuzu retired...i could not survive if two of my beloved boys fighting directly with each other and became each's reason for demise 😭

First of all, Yuzu was injured just before Worlds? And it wasn't the same injury that kept him in Japan longer and due to which he changed 4T3T to 4S3T?

I just wanted to give my 2 cents to all that blame-Brian game: even if Brian favors Javi a bit (and folks, that's no crime, it's natural to hit it off with certain people better than others, and it's also natural to burst with pride when one has coached a skater from virtual nobody to an over 200 FS, Yuzu was considered a prodigy already when he arrived to Brian, and Yuzu's tendency to stay away from Toronto so much probably playsa oart why Brian doesn't know him as well as Javi) he still always seemed to have a very good relationship with Yuzu. Remember how he talked to Yuzu after failure in Nationals? That was a talk of someone who cares and tries hard to be supportive. So he could have been more supportive emotionally of Yuzu this time around but... hey, Brian's not perfect, stop the press. Before the FS Brian probably thought Yuzu's got this, like he was able to pull himself together before and deliver amazingly. Well, lesson learned.

What I'm trying to say is that Brian's is still possibly the best coach out there for Yuzuru, not to mention that TCC is the best training center out there. It's Brian and TCC, for the most part, who coached Yuzu to amazing WR... and who coached Javi to where he us. Those folks, all of them, know their businees. I don't think there is anywhere in the world where Yuzu could continue to develop as well as at TCC.

Miki Ando says in her blog about yuzu:biggrin:.

“I don’t have any worry about him. All I feel is he shall get stronger further. He is the skater who shows his frustration and has words, so he can settle his feeling suitably. I feel even fear about him after getting over this challenge.”
