That (sort of) music video "ONE OK ROCK featuring Yuzuru Hanyu" was so funny.
I have been very sad during the past week, but watching this, I just couldn't stop laughing and began to feel better.
Thank you Kiritori TV
I hope there will be a whole clip soon so that all of you can see this great hilarious PV.
I am still laughing... A part of it:https://twitter.com/yuzuukozuu/status/718062125239767045?lang=ja

Nice, he is as good as a singer too !

We can't say that this season was totally awesome for him, (because of last event) overall 2012, 2013 , 2014 and 2016 were good, last year was awful because of his health mostly. So I don't have any concerns, but honestly if he does amazing 2017/18 season the best he can, I don't mind next season... after all it's Olympic gold that counts and matters in reality and imagine if it is second gold

It depends on how you define a good season. Do you define a good season based on performances or medals?

If we look at his performances, his performances in 2010-2011 and 2011-2012 season are the most stable. There is no big variance in his performances. He never had any clean competitions in those two seasons, but he never had any bombs either (usually 1-2 mistakes, some competitions have slightly more mistakes than others). However, he didn't win many medals or any titles in those two season because he was a newbie.

His performances from 2012-2016 had been up and down. They have become more volatile. The good performances are very good and the bad performances are very bad. However, he won more medals and titles in these four seasons. Even in 2012-2013 season, he medaled at all competition except WC. In 2014-2015 season, he medaled at all competitions except NHK. In terms of medals, none of the last four seasons is bad. In terms of performances, none of the last four seasons is awesome.

I think what he needs to improve on is his consistency. (At least don't bomb so terribly.)

Wow, do I take it four world records in one season weren't good enough for you?

That's exactly the problem. He can give A+ performance in one day, then a C level performance the next day. That shows his mental state is not very stable. That's why his performances fluctuate a lot. It has gotten worse this season. If he makes one mistake, more mistakes follow. (He was better when he was a kid, before 2012.) If he can't improve his stability, it will become a big problem at the next Olympics.

It just shows that technically his programs got a lot harder, for me. So you either get record scores or you fall. Not much to choose between. Even with a fall you can garner quite a lot of points.
I still have difficulty believing with one day and next day. NHK and GPF were two weeks apart, he performed perfectly in both.
Quite impressive for a skater who'd fall exhausted after every single LP just two years ago. and earlier.

But he also gave a good SP and very bad LP (with mistakes on more than half of the jumps) in two competitions this season. It's still a mental issue, not a technical issue. I don't think that's a problem that can be ignored. The pressure on him is bigger now. But it will get even bigger in the future.

and you're sure he ignores it?

Anyone cares to analyse Yuzu's astrological chart today? it seems interesting:o:

No, thank you. Please not here. I'm personally done with uncertain and shocking information and experiences since the WC so bringing in here pseudo-scientific nonsense and making everything more complicated and untrue doesn't appeal to me.

That's not what I saw at all. What about his Nationals SP for example, where he had a fall on his first jump but everything afterwards was just as amazing as it had been in NHK/GPF? The only program where I think your description fits at all is the Worlds LP - you can't expect anyone to up his tech like that and be mistake-free right out of the gate (Autumn Classic, SC).

And I also disagree about Yuzuru quite regularly bombing. He has some programs with more mistakes, but he usually pulls it together to deliver at least to some level (like at last years worlds). I'm sure the absolute majority of skaters would be happy if they could bomb like that.

That woman near you who was crying may have been me. He stepped onto the ice during the exhibition and the tears were falling!

I didn't cry during his performance but I got really emotional during his exhibition. I was not a huge fan of it on video but in person, and in Boston it was stunning. I was so gutted for him that I couldn't get into Javi's performance (plus I sat next to Javi's dad during the free, which made it awkward for me as they were celebrating and couldn't even smile). I think many of his fans who watched that night in Boston were depressed that night, we were mostly in shock. The hotel staff at least seem to pick up on the cloud hanging over our heads when we returned. I remember thinking to myself that night that I almost didn't even want to show up for pairs or ladies free skate the following day since I didn't really want to go back into the TD Garden but convinced myself to since the small medal ceremony was happening before pairs and I wanted to see him smiling there.

I think all my emotions came out as I watched Mao's freeskate the following day. The combination of her performance and preservance along with what I felt from the day before brought tears to my eyes. The Japanese lady next to me was also crying for Mao, and I think they also cried during Yuzu's freeskate too (my friend took my all-event seat for the free). It was really an emotional week full of supreme highs and lows, but overall I'm so grateful I got to witness his skating live. I got similar feelings from his Requiem exhibition this time that I did from his Hana wa Saku during NHK 2014, just full of emotion.

BTW, PrincessBeany, I think I spotted you twice that week wearing a red jacket.

Exactly how I felt. :hopelessness: I couldn't sleep that night after getting back to the hotel because I was so worried about him. It was hard for me to get out of bed the next day, and I ended up skipping the first half of the pairs FS. :sad4: Too bad I didn't get to stay for the gala, but it was beautiful watching it on video.

Yes I ended up skipping the practices that morning too. Couldn't muster up the effort to get up early for it after the night before. I was sitting center rink for the exhibition and when the announcer called his name so loudly and said "silver medalist" my heart ached all over again. Video of the exhibition doesnt do justice to Requiem, and it also doesn't capture how playful and sassy he was in the closing number. Friends and I also saw Yuzu and Mao exit the arena to the bus after exhibition and we kept waving since we weren't sure where he sat and the windows were dark, but we saw him waving back at the end and it made us so happy. I really want to see him skate live again so I'm going to make a point to attend another competition before he retires. I'd love it if I could get into one of the Japanese ice shows but it sounds too difficult.

Thank you guys for the awesome reports who went to the worlds :yay:

I just watched Kiritoru. As I expected there was nothing new. But nice to see his smile again especially with Shoma and Mao:yahoo: It is so ovbious, they just want to use Yuzu clip to get more viewers.
https://twitter.com/yuippe1019 To see Yuzu Shoma video clip, you have to scroll down quite a bit, sorry I don't know how to put up the exact link.::confused:
https://twitter.com/ciel_maomao/status/718058213514477568/photo/1 Shoma and Satoko frozen in motion sandwitched between Yuzu and Mao is so cute.

:agree: and in this video, after all the guys started he was like “just wait a biit! “ haha and ended up appearing with the ladies
(and to me, he looks shining as the same as those ladies maybe because with that costume?)

Actually, I remember that Yuna's fans made some videos about it and none of them shows Mao. They basically show Miki Ando, Yukari Nakano, and Fumie Suguri.

Just search Yuna and Miki on youtube and immediately found these:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMDPzAuWs6Y
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADHIbKj7Qbo

After watching these videos, I have to say that I understand Yuna's frustration. And what Yuna experienced is similar to Yuzu. Miki and Yukari did come so close so many times...and we can see Yuna's reaction and frustration right on the spot.

I will reply you on Team Japan thread since here is Yuzu’s fan thread.

I absolutely loved watching him skate live so I might try for SA or SC if he goes next season. I thought about trying to get a ticket to one of his ice shows since I'm heading to Japan at the end of this month but laughed at that thought since my chances of getting one was -0%

So glad many of you guys enjoyed watching Requiem, must have been quite the experience. :agree2:

I felt the same too. I was so worried and heartbroken for him, and when he performed Hana wa Saku and Requiem so beautifully..in my heart I kept repeating he is going to be ok...he is going to be ok. I pray for his health physically and mentally, and that all his future wishes come true.

I just saw this tweet again (fancam gala practice Worlds2015) :luv17:. I realized I have not seen gala practice 2016 fancam.

Waseda University news on Yuzu.
Shared by Echo Cheng @YHIFG FB --> Japan's new semester started in April 1, so he is scheduling to graduate next March.

Your description of that night parallels exactly how I felt. I didn't particularly want to head back to the rink the next day for pairs either. But seeing the Canadians win and then Mao's brilliance later that night brought me back to better spirits. Plus I got to see Yuzu smile during the small medal ceremony.

And I definitely was wearing a red jacket all week! You should have said hi!
