Kevin Reynolds

AND even more good news! After waiting impatiently for the protocols to be released, they're up and it said both quads were fully rotated, though one fell and both had negative GOEs, the triple axel got positive GOE, he attempted a 3-3-3 combo and underrotated the last triple in it but it still garnered 13.82 points and he doubled the lutz.

Mighty impressive if you ask me since 3-3-3 jumps don't seem to happen a lot.

he is such a fighter! really proud of him

Kevin won the competition. Congratulations! He is coming back to his prior form. :)

Beat me to it!

Actually I did know about this this weekend, but I didn't want to post it until the entry list was officially posted onto the ISU website for absolute confirmation. You know? Like I didn't want to spread anything potentially false...

I just hope he will be there in good shape!
Go! Kevin!:hap10:

I'm just SO happy he's getting back into competitive shape! :') He's getting better with each outing (Okay minus the blip of the SP of the 4CC, I kind want to forget about it and I actually haven't seen it yet....) which I feel like is a very good sign. And NEXT season is very important he gets the minimums for Worlds and also OLYMPICS. Well hopefully....he's definitely one to make a good comeback next year.

Oh, you give me some tension… It really is true. Go! Kevin!:cheer2:

We knew how he loves this sport and tried to come back hard...Just thinking of his long time efforts, i just want to cry. And yes, we can see the good sign:yes:. Further, now shoes problem has been settled.. Someday the sun comes again.

(BTW, a Japanese blog by a woman in Toronto often introduces Kevin (she always gives us Canadian figure skating news, CBC commentators, report from Skate Canada, Nationals.. , and we enjoy them so much!) She wrote that Pj Kwong and Smith really praised his brightness saying, “He doesn’t speak so much, but if you talk with him, you can immediately see his brightness.” Then the blogger told (them) that Kevin was able to do Japanese language also, they were astonished further!

Oh you have no idea. Like sometimes when I just talk about how proud I am and how much he's been through, I almost tear up because I'm so darn proud of him.

After meeting Misha Ge and freaking out a pinch when I did so.....it made me scared on how I'll react if I meet him. Like I legit wonder if I'll pass out. I know for a fact I'll have a tough time speaking and DEFINITELY won't be able to make eye contact. I sound so weird here I know....

And thanks for the extra that you placed here about Kevin.

Go Kevin. If he can obtain a TES from the event, that would be an awesome season ending for him. :hap10:

YES!!!!! I hope so (Though I think we all know I wished so badly he would have been able to last competition as well).

But like I mentioned in a previous post, he'll need TES next year for the Olympics in 2018.

I'm so excited! Except I'm going to be busy all day on Saturday cause of cheer tryouts for next school year at my college (university). So I'll have to check at a later time for the results.

Skate Canada is really supporting Kevin by sending him to a competition this late in the year. They could've just waited for next season, but they didn't. It's great to have the support of your federation. Though I hope Kevin's done his exams and doesn't need to worry about coming back and tackling them.

I'm happy as well! To me, it seems like they regained a lot of faith in Kevin again.

Lol. Ah yes. Exams. I'm in college as well (And I'm 100% sure I'll finish my undergraduate degree before him as I'm going to be finishing my 3rd year in a few weeks) so I KNOW how stressful it can be. Though probably more on me cause I'm a biology major.

Well I got some good news. Kevin got a 77.26 in the SP and a 41.43 TES! So he has the minimums for next year! Though of course we all wish he got them at the Sportsland Trophy. But he finally got it! Here's the protocol. I don't have a video. I didn't watch the stream cause I was at try-outs for cheerleading for next season (Made it again for the 4th time) and the service wasn't great to watch the stream anyways.

I thought someone would upload it for sure so I didn't record it. :( Sorry about that. Hopefully the organizers put up videos.

Kevin looked very happy when he heard his results. He had someone with him, a guy named Neil Wilson according to a Twitter user who is at the event. Neil is apparently Joanne's assistant.
