Evgenia Medvedeva's 3S-3T-3T-3T

Yes, and that's the problem. At worlds she did

3F+3T
3Lz
3F
3Lo
2A+2T+2T
3S+3T
2A

She could substitute

3F+2T
3Lz
3F
3Lo
2A+2T
3S+3T+3T (+3T. but the 4th jump wouldn't count)
2A

Exactly the same jumps, just rearranged.

She can also do 3F-3T-3T.

Anyway, even without 3-3-3, it would be interesting to see next season a similar layout to Polina's FS with 3f-3t-(2t) instead of 3ltz-3t-(2t), something like this.

3F-3T-2T
3Ltz
3F-3T x
3Lo x
2A-2t x
3S x
2A x

The base value should be higher for sure.

No, she couldn't; three 3Ts would be zayaking.

Before I saw the decimal point, I thought you were suggesting that Evgenia should do a 3F-quintuple loop-3S. :p

She will probably be doing a 5Lo in a few years!

I said any combo that does NOT include a 3T if the the 1st was a 3s 3T 3T

Strangely, I think this layout is actually 0.13 points less in base value than what she did this year. (The only difference I can see is that one double toe is moved from the last half of the program to the first half.)

Her combination is awesome!

But! The real test will be whether she maintains her jumps after she fills out. Her legs will not remain skinny forever. Time will tell.

She is not my favorite skater but she is a fighter, I think she'll be fine.

:eeking: wow!! Pretty amazing.
If we are going to start seeing 4 triple combos ( which I know we wont) skaters will have to fill in the rest of their programs a lot more.
But I must say doing these practice combs that really push a skater, even for fun can result in injury. If skaters actually stared doing 4 triple combos I think their careers would be a lot shorter.

Side track, should ISU allow more than 2 same jumps so long as they are in one combo? It will be awesome to see them in competitions.

No. Then we'd see 2 3T-3T combinations per FS. We don't need more code whoring than we have now.

I feel like I should know the answer to this (and part of me thinks the answer is no), but would it be possible to replace the 3-jump combo or sequence with a 3-3-3? I know that points-wise it might not actually make sense, but it would be interesting to know.

3-3-3 was a trademark combo of Kevin van der Perren. Irina Slutskaya also is credited for completing such in competition. On top of it Plushenko made 4-3-3 combination.

Totally agree. While not easy to do, it will be much harder to accomplish when she'll change from a girl to a woman. For the same reason she should be competing with girls not women. Do not take me wrong, I like her skills and her skating, but we have seen it over and over again that a teenager is dominant only to vanish in the women's body.

I doubt that Slutskaya ever did a 3-3-3. The furthest she ever got was a 3S+3Lo+2T.

I suppose, but remember that before the age rules were instituted, skaters could make their senior debuts at a much younger age. Both Michelle Kwan and Tara Lipinski, althought not "debutantes," had impressive senior seasons at ages that would not have allowed them to compete under the current rules--Michelle in 1995-96 at age 15 (never defeated? Or maybe once in a minor event); Tara in 1996 and 1997 at age 14 (didn't win everything but won Nationals and Worlds).

Nvm - I didn't read properly, my bad, as they say - sorry about that.:)

And who is that lucky person that "vanished in the woman's body" exactly? Not good and neat observation, in my view. There are no uncombackable skaters, if we are talking about Russian fed. No lost cases. The ever mistake is that people like to compare Russian situation with other feds. Is Yulia worse than Polina/Mirai? Why do people write Russian girls off over and over again? If some of them aren't in the national team, it doesn't automatically mean that they are flashes in the pan and we won't ever see them again. Such primal thinking in situation like this:/ And also does a skater need to be dominant-dominant not to be considered an uncombackable type but a member, worthy a seat in a nat team? Strange view, once again. Gracie Gold was 16 too and nobody whined and wanted her to be still a junior competitor, AFAIK. *bias-bias-bias* Nobody stopped her at the time from winning anything. The only difference is that Medvedeva can, and does win. I know some people find it strange that a Russian girl comes and wins everything major every year. But that's what their talent is for. Cheer up!

Well I don't remember ever witnessing it - I just remember that I read it somewhere on various occasions.

Shizuka did 3S-3Lo-3T in the Turin Olympics practice session. But she didn't need it after seeing how Sasha Cohen did...
