Well, if you refer to Hanyus jumping like hell his 4r jumps in training... he will not change that completely. Its his kind of way.
"Trainingspause für Hanyu" = is he really completely "off ice" now ? I can't imagine, he would loose his feeling for ice. And cricket club trainings plans for Mai/June are stroking and basics anyway.

Until late last year (November, almost December); Javi had no work visa to stay in Canada so often he had to leave the country and return to Spain to obtain it.
About Yuzuru, I imagine he will have better conditions in this regard. At least I hope so and that not all governments of the world be so slow as Spain in that regard.

- Nomura-san mentioned they went to a skating rink after the talk show last August and Yuzu skated and Nomura-san advised him a bit.
- He was also surprised that Yuzu appeared to understand everything he said. He mentions that people often do not understand what he means especially if they are younger, but this wasn't the case with Yuzu.
- *Everything he said <---He's referring to acting and artistry and how an actor projects himself to the audience. Regarding these things, the communication flowed naturally, like water, from Nomura-san to Yuzu.

Evidently no depends of the goverment of Spain,but of the Canadian immigration laws are strict, but even'm so sure that javi was other type of sportmen, the Spanish government had acted more quickly when managing the bureaucracy.


And yes, before Javier had work visa, he had to go out every 3 months in Canada and manage new visa to re-enter.

Yuzuru's diagnosis has been reported from ANA.

He has "Lisfranc joint ligament damage" (左足リスフラン関節じん帯損傷) and needs 2 months to recover completely.
He'll stay in Toronto for treatment. ANA will report on his progress again in mid-May.

This is an official answering from FaOI organizer. In the finale paragraph, they ask audience who buy the tickets to watch Yuzu skating not to resell the tickets hurriedly because he doesn't confirm being absent from all FaOI this season yet.

I hope Yuzu is not pressured to skate in the shows. Sometime I wonder whether his team decided the treatment to be in Toronto to avoid the pressure in Japan by organisers, sponsors etc.

I've been translating a interview of Javi on a spanish radio. The interviewer asked about Yuzu this:

Q: Other thing that surprises me about your sport. You train with your biggest rival, don’t you? How Brian Orser can handle to train both of you? I guess he trains you in the same way, he says that he’s like a father for you. How is it to train with your rival, at the same ice rink, the same hours?
A: Figure skating is a sport which we don’t have to compete face to face, you compete against yourself, and then the judges decide who wins. We use our way of training together as benefit for our trainings. Yuzuru learns things from me, I learn things from him, if he strives more then I try too. You know what? If he does his next competitive programs (I mean next two seasons) with choreographers he already worked with then maybe he could do show programs with new ones (if he has time and possibility)? I'd love to see some new collaborations in choreo department.

I can see why there would be a difference in reactions to Wagner's and Yuzuru's silver at worlds though. Wagner went into worlds as an underdog. Fans put all their hopes onto Gold and were even saying it was impossible for Wagner to ever win a world medal. Yuzuru went into worlds the favorite and after the SP it looked like the deal was sealed. Add that along with Yuzuru's record as the "big" events and it's easy to jump on the doom and gloom bandwagon for his chance at the next Olympics. It's a lot easier to be pessimistic than optimistic.
Two season can be a long or short time depending on how you see the glass. I think he has more than enough time to work out his kinks before the Olympics because he's a seasoned veteran and a fighter.

People's reaction depends on their expectation. To most fans, Ashley's silver medal is an over-achievement, whereas Yuzu's silver medal is an under-achievement. Most people's expectation for Yuzu at this WC is not just to win, but to be perfect and break WR. This is due to him giving two clean competitions in a row and breaking several WRs. This may be the biggest pressure he had to face in his career, unless he can give 3 clean competitions in a row in the future. (I don't think he will give 3 consecutive clean competitions before the Olympics because he will add new jump 4Lo to his layout and I don't think his 4Lo will be consistent right away.) I think even the pressure he will face at the next Olympics will be smaller than the pressure he faced in Boston because he won't face the build up like he did before this WC. So, I think it should be easier for him to handle pressure in the future because the pressure he will face in future competitions will be much smaller than the pressure he faced in Boston. The only competition I think he will face bigger pressure than in 2016 WC is the 2018 WC after the Olympics, if he wins the Olympics with cleans performances and breaks the WR. (In that case, he is probably going to bomb the 2018 WC.)

You know what? If he does his next competitive programs (I mean next two seasons) with choreographers he already worked with then maybe he could do show programs with new ones (if he has time and possibility)? I'd love to see some new collaborations in choreo department.

If he doesn't do FaOI (which I hope), he won't get FaOi choreography. So maybe he will have some kind of different exhibition programs next season, done by other choreographers.

I have a feeling that if he really won Olympics with clean performances and WR scores, he would be confident enough in his abilities by that time to put out a good performance at the WC. Not as great but not bomb. The pressure of winning the 2nd Olympics is far greater than what comes after I feel. He would have less to prove by then.

The pressure on him depends on the expectation on him before the competition. Most people's expectation of a skater depends on the skater's most recent performances. After this year's WC, the expectation on Yuzu is much lower now. Many people don't expect him to be clean and give WRs in future competitions any more, especially at the most important competitions like WC and Olympics because now he has a record of not delivering at WC and Olympics. If he doesn't give consecutive clean competitions before the Olympics, most people wouldn't expect him to be perfect and some wouldn't even expect him to win the next Olympics. He wouldn't be seen as an overwhelming favorite to win the Olympics. So the pressure on him wouldn't be as big because the pressure he feels as a co-favorite is much less than the pressure he feels as an overwhelming favorite. He is the overwhelming favorite to win the 2016 WC. I think he was pretty confident to skate well in the competition. He prepared for 3 months and had clean run-through in practice every day. But the pressure on him was too big for any confidence to overcome. Most people (if not everybody)'s expectation for him was perfection and WR. Any mistake is unacceptable. Competing at the Olympic game doesn't necessarily mean the skater will face the biggest pressure and not everyone in the same competition faces the same pressure.

I actually think the pressure he faced at the 2014 WC is bigger than the pressure he faced at the 2014 Olympics. He was the co-favorite to win the Sochi Olympics, so he only felt half of the pressure. The other half of the pressure was on Patrick. But he was the overwhelming favorite to win the 2014 WC because he won the Olympics with a sub-par performance thus needed to prove himself worthy of the title, and he was competing in Japan. I guess the good thing is that at 2014 WC, he fell in the SP, so given his personality, he would fight back in the LP. If he had a lead after the SP, I'm afraid, he would've given a sub-par LP performance and lost.

If he wins the next Olympics with WR performances, he would become the overwhelming favorite to win the WC right after the Olympics. Everyone (a much bigger number of fans than now, due to the publicity of double Olympic gold) would expect a double Olympic Champ to win the WC with perfect or near perfect performances. Then it's probably better for him to make mistakes in the SP in the WC after the Olympics, so he can fight back in the LP.
