I think the top seeded skaters can give their preference. But it's the feds that give the final invitation. So it's not like the top skaters can always get what they want. I would think the fed's preference is the priority, not the skaters'.
Ah I see.
I was kinda hoping he would go for CoR since the last time he went there it was 2011. Not sure if skate canada would invite him again, though personally I would want him to go elsewhere. But if he get SC again there will be less travel too and he won't be so exhausted. Also, I really hope he will attend 4CC, even though I am aware he skipped it for the last 3 years or so.

Javier wanted to go to COR, he likes competing there. He has gone to COR more than to any other GP, including the last 3 seasons. He could have said he preferred TEB last year and he didn't. Following this trend, there is a good chance of him going to Russia again, so I think that, if Yuzu goes to NHK (which will most likely happen), TEB and SA/SC are the best options for his other assignment. COC will obviously go to Boyang and I guess he will avoid TEB because it's right before COC.
Anyways, my guess for Yuzu is NHK and TEB![]()
And he prefered CoC over SA too?

I don't know about that one, but it could be. COC had an easier field and he did win Worlds there last year.
Or perhaps he wanted more time to work on his programs and training.
Or maybe he did prefer SA, but at the end of the day the Feds also play a huge part on the assigments and USFSA chose Denis instead![]()

As far as I know, top 2 can choose and get they want. The world champion is the first to choose, then after the champion makes his choice. There will be 4 events left for the silver medalist to choose from. Then the bronze medalist has no choice but to go the remaining two events.
For top 10 skaters, they can express their preference and each federation will consider it. But their final entries depend on invitations.
I don't know where COC is going to be held next year. If it is the same place as COC2014, I don't think Yuzu will ever want to go back there considering he is superstitious...
And COC date was moved and it's the week before NHK, no one likes back to back events. And still, the Feds do get some choice on the top skaters and the Chinese Fed would obviously like Boyang to compete there. Just as JSF would want Yuzu to do NHK.
I shiiiiiiip itAwwww :luv17:

IMO, it is likely Chinese Skating Federation prefers Boyang to be in COC. In that case, no COC for Yuzuru or Javi as they are all the medalists of the Worlds 2016. I prefer COR and NHK for Yuzuru because of the intervals in the schedule![]()
which one is first, teb or cor?
