Stupid question:
Is some kind of orthotic on Jason's left leg?? The black thing?

I think it is tape.... but i can't say i have ever understood why athletes use tape... so maybe tape is an orthotic.
Thx ... you could be right that it is tape. Tape to support his left ankle and/or lower leg, I guess??

.)... I am sure Rohene would rather have him wear the pink or blue tape![]()

@golden411, I also noticed that he had the extra tape around the ankle, but since many of the other articles show quite extensive taping of feet and ankles as a preventive measure, it didn't really ring any alarm bells, especially because there's no apparent swelling. I don't know anything about this stuff, though!
Another thing, not sure how long ago the photo was taken, but a few days ago he posted a clip of himself and his sister dancing in sand dunes and there's no tape, so hopefully that means he's fine. ....
Looks like regular kinetic tape to me. Could be simply precautionary - maybe he tweaked it, or it was just a little sore, so they taped it up to support it. ...

Recent clip of 3A+1/2Lo+3F from Jason.
I love combos we don't see often.
Curious how they are thinking of using this one. I have theorized before that long term plan was to replace the 3A+2T with a 4T+2T and the 3Z+1/2Lo+3S with a 3A+1/2Lo+3S as he did do that combo at the Jump contest last year.... now... who knows what they are thinking. Maybe wanting to do a solo 3S to *mark* for the 4S? I am not sure he would get rid of the 3F+3T easily... or that he should... unless a 4T+3T is on the radar. And he could just be playing / showing off...
This combination...we wants it, precious, we wants it, needs it, must have it!
I think this is that combo that Shoma always uses, except most of the time he was using a 2A it seems. It's a pretty big point value, especially in the second half. I'm still worried that Jason is gonna re-injure his back with the inevitable quads...Sure is great to see him back on the ice tho. Crossing my fingers that he will be at Skate America. Go Jason! :luv17:
Is this the same entrance to the 3A he was struggling with last fall in second half of FS? Do you think working on this combo will make the solo 3A easier to rotate? Also...would practicing this combo make his 3F stronger (because he has to make sure he has enough height and speed to rotate it at the end of the combo)? Since he's said 3F is his favorite jump I'm wondering if Shoma's success with 4F has inspired him!
