Shoma was interviewed live on a local Hokkaido TV today.
You can follow the videos from this tweet. There are 8 short videos of Shoma's interview.
(ETA: A better quality video has been shared by this person)
I skipped most of the boring questions/answers but here's some of what he said.

He says Sapporo is cold, the meat he had for lunch was good, food in Hokkaido is delicious.
The new program he's skating here (he's not saying which one) has a different atmosphere to last season's, is more mature and it will be a new challenge for him next season.
He plans on including difficult elements in the new program.
He thinks watching other skaters at ice shows are good for him.

I know what you feel. We cannot see the Nationals live even in Japan either. Fuji TV has BS and CS channels as well. I'm sure they can arrange the broadcasting schedule, as figure skating is now very popular comparing to before.

Do you remember that some years ago, they aired "Figure Skating Quiz Show" while the competition was actually proceeding, before the live program? I rushed from work to see the live program, and my husband who was at home earlier said, "You don't have to so rush. It's now in the midst of a quiz show "

I got so mad shouting, "It's now in the midst of the competition !!!" :ddevil: It was nothing but a bad joke.

Full of complaints on the net at that time as well as to the TV station, and it seems they no longer have such a courage to air the same kind of show again :rofl2:

But still it is ridiculous we cannot see the full competition of our Nationals live.

Sorry, a bit off-topic. I just remembered how I was infuriated.

I didn't see the quiz show, but I've heard about it. I wonder who, at Fuji TV thought that having a quiz show while there was a competition going on, was a good idea?

It sounds like you have the same frustration with TV coverage as we do in the US. And sometimes even when they show a lot of the skating, the TV commentators never stop talking - many times so much that it's impossible to hear the music! I think it's easier to get tickets for us, but that's not necessarily a good thing, since it just means skating is less popular than it used to be!

Please skating Gods, invite my favorites to SA (especially you-know-who :p!) They have to already know. They just like to torture us!

Don't you guys get IN for the groups that NBC doesn't broadcast though? Keeping my fingers crossed for you Arriba627. Still a month until we find out!

The choreography looks like a tango  maybe he's skating his free program. He's still not listed on the Dreams On Ice cast so he may skate Fantasy for Violin & Orchestra at Prince Ice World Tokyo. Add Wakaba and her Byakuyako program and Machida's gonna have a great time there.:sarcasm:

ETA: I forgot Yuka Nagai is also part of the PIW Tokyo cast. She should just skate her East Of Eden SP from two seasons ago.

For the last few events, I really can't complain. NBC Sports cable TV had a lot of coverage. I recorded everything I could, since I was at the competitions (Nationals and Worlds). It was really fun to listen to everything when I returned home and hear some of the commentary. I have never considered Ice Network, and it seems that many people complain about how poor the quality of the connection is - it stops, excessive buffering, it cuts in and out. Then if there are special events, they charge an extra fee even though you already paid to have the service, which is pretty annoying. It will be interesting to see how much is broadcast for Skate America. Hopefully I will get a lot of it on Sports Cable.

Sapporo must really be cold! Everyone is commenting on the cold! I wonder if it's as cold as Chicago's winters...Wow, Shoma put a lot of sentences together without getting too nervous! Go Shoma! Anxious for the new programs.

I looked up the latitudes of Chicago and Sapporo because I'm such a nerd. They are about the same.
Chicago 41.53, Sapporo 43.04. I've no idea if the longitude would affect the weather though because I'm a shallow nerd

I was looking to find information about Shoma at FaOI Sapporo but it looks like he didn't do a solo performance in the first half of the show.
But I did get that he was wearing a sparkly green T shirt with white pants and he even remembered the choreography for the opening!

I think it's just for the opening at FaOI Makuhari and Sapporo. I think the opening costumes are often ugly at FaOI, especially for the first half of the tour. They had nice simple black shirts on in the second half of the tour last year didn't they?

That sounds like something I would do (look up latitude!). Yes, Sapporo must be cold, although we had a warm winter...Oh dear, white pants? I really hate any white costumes (for men or women). Very ugly. Hopefully it's just for the show. And sometimes you can see through them--eek, I won't even go there!

I guessed it right, he skated his FS. According to this tweet

4F (popped?), 4T, 3S, FCSp, StSq (fall), CFSp, 3A, vocals start here, 3F, 3Lo, CoSp, 3A step-out, 3Lo

He skated his new FS in the red shirt.

wow! this must be costume for FS! i adore bijou at the hem of pants!

Ohhh, nice! Yes, great whatever that is (decoration!). I was hoping red for the tango and purple for the short. Maybe part of my dream has come true. But can we really know if this is it?...We'll see what happens. He changed green to black (for SP) last year and red to leprechaun (for FS).

My post #1208 keeps on showing up on your posts. I wonder why (or is it just on my computer screen)?

According to tweets, he jumps one of the 3As right after the sound of high-pitched sound of the violin and right at the moment of silence, then the 2nd song starts as soon as he lands it. Sounds cool but it would be sad if he fell on it.
For the finale, he wore a silver T-shirt with a black vest, came out escorting Marin Honda, he was slightly behind everybody for the choreo. (to everybody's joy, fans seemed disappointed when he was doing fine in the opening) and didn't know which row to follow. Popped his 4T for the jump battle but succeeded the 2nd one.
Hopefully videos will be uploaded as soon as it's broadcasted in Hokkaido on Sunday.

You had a 50-50 chance of being right! I'd say that's pretty good odds! :p

Just noticed that with #1208. Let's see if I deleted it here...As I had mentioned earlier, I was having a really hard time putting the two songs together in my head. For one thing, I was thinking more of tangos like El Choclo or La Cumparsita - although maybe they're too well known or over used. Sounds cool with the connection of the two songs...I'm sure it's all still a work in progress. Go Shoma! :hap85:

He skated his full FS. First half is Hora Cero, the second is Ballada with vocals.

I guessed it by the choreography shown in the news video :agree:
