According to a report on DTRTS Shoma is back in Japan and attended LOTF tonight! So nice that he is supporting Uncle Dai!

At first i dont know the meaning of the post. That's countdown towards Skate America! :yahoo: it takes place of that for the announcement of GS assignment!

Yes - the countdown to SA! I love this photo. This is the one I took at Worlds of Shoma (off the Jumbo-tron screen) when he was taking his bows after the short program.

Be prepared

I found this photo on a fan's instagram and wondered where it came from, then found the source on the Shoma Uno fan tumblr. I guess it's his mothers Facebook?

That is so weird. I saw that name the other day but was too busy to investigate it and then forgot the name and couldn't find it! Hmmmm! The mystery continues.

I love costume/program discussion. Hope shoma will have a long career and keep showing us many great ones to us!
If you find any video of piece of Don Quijote suitable for skating, would you tell me

Hi Hamaguri - just wondering if you had a chance to listen to the Don Quixote music in Post #1554 and if so, wondering how you liked it. Don't worry if you didn't! (Sometimes it's too much of a time commitment to watch videos).

Sorry for worrying you! Of course, i watched the video the last weekend, and has a lot of view, but i didnt have much time to sit before PC to write a long comment this week. In this thread im prepared for lumpy comment!

I hope you enjoyed Takeshi Honda especially. He was really wonderful with that music. I think it suits Shoma so perfectly. But next year is a long time from now! In the meantime, I think we have all been very busy reading about our favorites and their Grand Prix assignments. Enjoy! :hap85:

My first question was What is that pink machine he's looking at in that one photo on the FB page. Very funny - it's a cupcake ATM machine in Chicago, I think. Maybe our friend really likes sweets! And we saw in that photo taken in Japan he had that piece of cake that was supposed to be his treat for the season! :laugh2: http://sprinkles.com/cupcake-atm He can just do a few extra jumps to burn off the extra calories.

Poor shoma! He must avoid sweets and longs for it. (Cup cake machine is usual in us? ). Yes, shoma, do practice of jumps and burn calories!

I noticed that he was looking at a cupcake machine (didn't know such a thing existed though) but forgot that he only has one sweet thing as a treat per season. Awww. Let’s hope it was an exaggeration and that he was able to eat one.

Shoma's skater friend posted a souvenir Shoma got him from the US. Is it a famous chocolate bar?

This is the first time I have ever seen a cupcake machine, although I have heard of the company Sprinkles. There are only a few of them in the U.S. They sell these HUGE cupcakes that are $4.00 each and are in many unusual flavors. I had to do a little "investigation" and was very interested to see that this cupcake machine is in a very exclusive, fancy section of Chicago. I wondered when Shoma visited there! I know I sound like the Diet Police, but I also wondered if the drink he is holding is a Coke with sugar or a Diet Coke (Coke Light). Just trying to keep him slim and trim so he can continue to post good scores! :points: Now I want to go to see that machine!

I have not heard of these chocolates, but it looks like they are an expensive chocolate that you can find in department stores. I think Shoma went to the Water Tower area in Chicago which is an area with a lot of exclusive shops, fancy hotels, nice restaurants, etc. Maybe he took a little trip with his training mates (or with mom)...This is the first time I am seeing the cupcake machine. There are only a few of them in the U.S...Is it my imagination, or does Shoma look just a little bit heavier -- not fat, but maybe like he's just growing up and is putting on a little weight? Hopefully he split the cupcake with someone and only ate half!

I’m really oblivious to people’s weight gains/losses but some people said he looked heavier at one of the ice shows. I think it was at PIW Yokohama. Maybe he is gaining more muscles or eating cupcakes in secrecy.

--------
Shoma’s interview from this morning’s broadcast.
Just translating the important bits below.
He’s kind of forced to congratulate Akiko on her engagement (from around 1:00) because the announcer says to him “There is something you want to tell Akiko-san isn't there?" and Shoma looks puzzled for a second and whispers “Congratulations.”
He trained in the U.S. for 3 weeks, it was like a training camp with focus on jumps. He thinks his condition has improved from it.
About the quads, Akiko asks him how he motivated himself go for the 4F and he replies that he looked forward to it more than felt reservations about it because he was so frustrated about the results at Worlds and did it to change his mood. While the 4F isn't as consistent as the 4T, it’s more consistent than the other quads so he wants to include it next season.
A question from Nobu. Is there a possibility he’ll include other quads this season (Nobu has seen him land the 4Lo and 4S) and Shoma says the possibility isn't zero because he never knows what will happen, like with the 4F. He’s practicing the 4Lo to make it more consistent but asks not to expect too much from him.
About Daisuke's LOTF, Shoma says he’s had dance lessons before, but he can’t do what he does on the ice so he’d never be able to do what Daisuke's doing. He is motivated to do well this season after watching Daisuke on stage.
His goal this season is the same as last season’s, “to attack”. Asked what color medal he’d like at next Worlds, he says that more than medals, he doesn’t want to end up with tears at the end of the season. Akiko says she cried too.
