For me, all the season they looked tired and under a great pressure. But now (doing shows and training not so much as they used to) they look really happy for me. That's the reason why I think they will not compete any more. Besides, they didn't visit any of training camps Mozer's group did. And still there was no info about new programs for them.
 
Well, if they said they plan to resume training in October, why would they go to any summer camps?
 
So far it seems they will compete later this season. We will see. If they do choose to retire, I respect that. If they choose to compete, I respect that too. They seem happy right now and that's the main thing. As for last season, obviously Worlds wasn't great, but personally I thought they looked fabulous at Euros.

In terms of new programs, I'm not surprised that we haven't heard anything at this stage if V/T are starting later in the season. That doesn't necessarily mean that nothing is in the works at the moment. I've noticed that some skaters/teams seem much more open on social media about their training and programs than others.

Have other Mozer teams like Stolbova/Klimov announced their music yet?

Perhaps innovative wasn't the right word. I am a huge V&T fan and they will always be my favorites! For me, I was just thinking about the Dracula program and how the structure was very similar to that of Jesus Christ Superstar. Also, they didn't really bring any new elements in and what they did bring in they struggled with. I still believe that they are the best. It will just take some time for them readjust to the new competitive scene:)

Aren't they supposed to be working with a new choreographer this season? I remember Mozer saying something a while ago about V/T not working with Morozov this season. So maybe we'll see a new style of choreography, or some new elements since they have more time to prepare. I think the injuries held them back last season.

I thought Dracula and Bollywood were the two best programs they've had (with the exception of Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet and maybe Masquerade Waltz). I believe they will get a 4Tw if they want and maybe even will work on a more difficult combination of jumps or sbs jumps. This season wasn't all that bad and they still had those small injuries. Hopefully they can use this time off until Europeans to make more progress. :)

They still don't have any idea about new programs and still even don't plan to work on them (that what she said yesterday on meeting with fans). But still she said they plan to compete at RN.(as for me, I don't belive and think she just calm their fans, but who knows) Also she said Max helps Mozer with one junior team as coach.

With all due respect, I disagree. They did bring new lifts, in both SP and LP, they tried 3-2-2 at least the first few times. They brought back the throw triple flip, an awesome spiral, new transitions, how many more new elements were they supposed to bring in? Or is only a quad considered a new element?

Some of the other skaters who are "up in age" for their disciplines have said that they need to plan in rest and recovery time, and be more attentive to that, than when they were younger. When we look at their compatriots Kavaguti/Smirnov, I think that is very wise. Overtraining becomes more taxing with "age," if one can call 30 "age." :laugh:

Also, I think Max in particular might feel it more productive to "rest" by doing performances and different programs. The saying is "a change is as good as a rest," I believe. Last year may have shown Tatiana and Max that the judges still love them and will give them the high marks when they're earned. I absolutely loved their Europeans skates.

Their 3Twist is so high it seems they might work on a 4Tw. But I don't care whether they do or not. I'm really looking forward to seeing them compete. For me, they embody so much that is wonderful and beautiful about the classical Russian pairs.:luv17: :love: :love:

He is present at the pairs test skate event as a coach of Foka/Domnin. This is just a temporary assignment though.

He said that at the moment Mozer/Zhovnirskii and him has not decided about who will coach the junior pair after test skates - maybe Max, maybe Zhovnirskii, maybe someone else.
Also Max said that they still don't have program. So his words about RN ("maybe we'll begin the season there") looks like they just don't want to say goodbye at the moment, but actually decided to do it...
 
I will certainly miss them so much if they retire. Their skill, their passion, their overall quality will not be so easy to match.

I will miss them too! Though if they retire they would still do shows, if I understood that correctly? So we'll still be able to see them skating. Though for me exhibitions tend not to be as exciting to watch as competitions.

I don't blame them at all if they do choose to retire. They've achieved their goals and it must be hard to motivate yourself after that. I wouldn't be surprised if they choose to move on to other things in their lives, like coaching and starting a family. :)
 
I hope that they decide to stay some more - but looks like they've been considering retiring more and more seriously...:( I'll miss them, too, if they do - but I agree, it's up to them and they've achieved all that they wanted. Hoping that they will do a lot of shows, so that we could continue to enjoy their skating!
